Stepping onto the rising elevator I turned to look out the window and waved sullenly at everyone that I had made close friends with at college that year. This was it, I had to leave to save planet earth. There was no other option….

The elevator finally made it to the bottom floor of the ship and the hole closed up behind us. No point in going into intergalactic high speed travel with the barn door open. I turned to my first in command Xellos and ordered him to take off. I wanted nothing more than to get the hell off of this planet, and away from the disappointed stares from the ones that I loved. Walking away from the elevator I could feel the gazes of my crew fall upon my back. I knew that the lies and deceptions were wrong and that when my loved ones realized that they had in fact been lied to for who knows how many years, they would be hut and confused. But as I saw it, it might be better that I leave with them angry at me. If there was no anger, and I didn't return, then they would regret ever letting me go in the first place. At least now, they won't feel badly about it in the long run.

I felt the ship lift off from the ground and not to sound corny, but I knew that from there on there was no going back. It was do or die. Kill or planet Earth is destroyed. No choice, no other options, no peace of mind, and no rest for the weary. Onward my fearless soldiers, onward to oblivion.
