The first time she saw Percy Jackson was when he came staggering towards the Big House bruised and scraped, carrying an unconscious Grover over his shoulder. He, then, proceeded to collapse on the porch.

"He's the one, he must be." Annabeth had proclaimed at the time. Chiron had told her to hush and to help him carry Percy inside.

Later, after he'd woken up, gotten a prophecy and declared Grover as his first helper, she thought, that when Chiron told him she was there, she wouldn't go. But this kid, destined to be the One to save them, let her on the quest though she'd eavesdropped. At that point, Annabeth thought this kid wasn't smart.

The Furies boarded their bus. Whatever this kid had done, Annabeth knew she may have made a mistake coming with. All three. On the same bus. Going after them. What had this kid done? He'd ticked off three of the greatest Monsters in the entire world. This kid was definitely below average.

Aunty Em's Garden Gnome Emporium. Annabeth should've known. The name, the statues. They all pointed towards one person. Medusa. Yet she let Percy talk her into staying and getting pictures. Of course Medusa tried to kill them. Di imortals. Yes, Percy had killed her. He was brave, but bravery is stupidity everyone admires.

He jumped out of the St. Louis Arch. Six hundred and thirty feet. And survived. At first, after realizing it was a Chimera, Annabeth's first instinct was to go back up and get him, before he did something stupid. Instead, she found him wandering around, completely dry, saying he'd jumped out of the St. Louis Arch. This kid was crazy.

She was having so much fun in the Lotus Casino and she knew Percy and Grover were, too. Which is why she fought against leaving. The idea was to build 3-D buildings and skyscrapers. Annabeth loved it. If she could go in and play it forever, she would. Five days. They were in there for five days. She had cursed her own stupidity when she found out. Percy Jackson was looking smarter.

The Underworld was weird. And Olympus like. Annabeth hated it. The designs were amazing but the colors and decorations were awful and did not belong with those designs. Hades, Annabeth had to admit, was handsome. They almost made it out with Percy's mother but then he decided to crush the pearls and Fight Ares. Smart and Stupid- cancelled each other out. Seaweed Brain, she decided.

He'd recommended to go back home. Talk to her father, reconcile with her family. She did. Turns out, he was right and Annabeth's father wanted her home.

Percy Jackson wasn't Athena smart but just the kid Annabeth trusted. And trust wasn't easy to earn from her.
