Fernstripe padded softly through the ferns, dry leaves crunching beneath her paws. She parted her haws to taste the air and caught a wiff of a squirrle. Fernstripes mouth watered as she stalked up on the squirrel, slithering through the ferns. She wriggled her haunches and sprang at the squirrel. The squirrel struggled underneath her weight for a couple of heartbeats before Fernstripe gave it a swift bite to the neck. Fernstripe let out a soft purr of satisfacation as she set the fresh kill down.
"Nice catch." Fernstripe jumped in alarm and wipped around to see her friend, Lepoardtail. Lepoardtail looked at the fresh kill, hunger flickering across her gaze. she finally looked back up at Fernstripe. " You know, the clan has been fed." Fernstripe purred. " We can eat it if you'd like." Lepoardtail didn't need to be asked twice. She settled down and sank her teeth into the soft flesh of the squirrel. Fernstripe realized how hungery she was and sat down to eat.
Fernstripes mind whirrled as she sat next to her friend. Fernstripe and Lepoardtail had been friends when they were still kits, but Fernstripe felt a stronger connection for her beautiful friend. Fernstripe swallowed her fear and met Lepoardtails gaze. "I...I." Fernstripe stampered. " Just say it." Lepoardtail pressed. " I like you!" Fernstripe blurted. she felt her face turn bright red. Fernstripe turned and flead.
