As Watson comes upon the detective that night, fingers loose around a no longer lit pipe and an approaching distance in his eyes that solely appears during prolonged periods between cases, he knows that it is only a matter of time before he once again loses his friend to a black mood. He knows that he would give just about anything to be that which could appease the demons that run rampant in Holmes's mind. But as his friend's eyes settle on a locked drawer containing a familiar morocco case and seven-percent solution, he knows that he is not enough.
