I awoke in my dark room with Edward's ice cold arms entrapped round my waist. Last night we had been talking about how I wanted to be changed into a vampire and as usual, he disregarded my comments and told me that I should live a normal human life and grow old with him. "Bella, will you do the great honour of becoming engaged to me?" Edward asked, incredulous when he saw my reaction. "Edward, if we get married at my age people will think that you knocked me up and I am not having that. I love you but I'm sorry I can't go through with it." I stormed out of my house and told Charlie I was going for a walk. I turned up at Jacob's house who answered the door completely naked with just a towel round him. I couldn't resist him because he was just so sort of beautiful. I wrapped my arms around his waist and kissed him passionately. We started getting off on his bed and I shuddered with complete shock when I turned around to see Edward with his golden eyes glistening with great sadness. "Bella how could you do this to me? We are over and I never want to see you again!" I began to cry softly but then cheered up with the realisation that I was going to be with Jacob Black. "Edward, Bella doesn't want to be with a filthy bloodsucker like you", shouted Jacob angrily. How could I have not realised that he was a much better catch than Edward? The next day Jacob and I knocked on Charlie's door to tell him that Edward and I were over. He responded by embracing Jacob in a tight bear hug and exclaimed, "I knew that Edward was never right for you Bella, he made you depressed for months when he left you and Jacob was the one to comfort you." I smiled in embarrassment at what a mess he had made me become last year and laughed to myself about my stupidity for actually wanting to make my relationship with Edward work after the way he abandoned me in a forest with no one to protect me. To celebrate Charlie took us out to the diner to have steak which Jacob scoffed wholeheartedly. Jacob finally popped the question to me when we went back to his house, "Will you marry me?" I then realised that I couldn't stand the thought of being married to him because 18 is far too young and I wondered what my friends Jess and Angela would think of me. I had to end it. "I'm sorry Jacob but I can't," Jacob looked utterly heartbroken but there was nothing I could say to make this better. I went to ask Charlie if I could home to Phoenix to live back with Mom and Phil. He was disappointed but said, "I knew there would be sometime when you would get sick of living with me so I will book the flight for you first thing in the morning but you've got to sleep on it." I sighed. "Okay, Dad goodnight." I then snuggled into my warm bed and fell fast asleep, feeling so happy that I wouldn't have to live round any vampires or werewolves anymore and just back get to my normal life in Phoenix.
