Been working on this for a few hours; thought I'd post it just to see what people think.
They walk down the road, side by side, barely paying attention to their surroundings.
Toad, Slug, Snake.
The Toad talks the entire time, grinning from ear to ear, making wild gestures with his hands. His eyes are wide and bright; only those truly close to him can see the darkness behind the light.
The Slug listens, smiling softly, laughing at times when the Toad makes an outrageous statement. Her hands are soft, pale from too much time indoors; only a few know how many times she has shattered boulders with those hands.
The Snake keeps watch with his odd eyes, looking out for anything that might be of use later. He listens with half an ear, smirking at the Toads' stories.
They walk to their appointed training grounds, where their teacher waits. Though they have long since surpassed him, they still meet with him to spar and catch up.
When he looks at them, walking tall and proud, he imagines them as the way they once were - then sees them as they are now.
Jiraiya, Tsunade, Orochimaru.
Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke.
Toad, Slug, Snake.
Dentetsu no Sannin.
