Greetings, party people! Welcome to another story, hope you enjoy. This is only my second writing so no judgement, though creative criticism is encouraged. Now, I don't own any of these characters, so no lawsuits please. I'll shut up now so you can read. Peace out

Chapter One

Percy's POV

Percy could not get to sleep, even though it was one in the morning. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw the horrors of his past. A short walk with Annabeth, that's all he needed. He and Annabeth could talk about anything together, especially… that place, since they went through it together. Of course, she was at her apartment and he was at home with his mom, so that was not really an option. Maybe a swim? He thought. That would work.

Percy got out of bed as quietly as he could, not wanting to wake his mother or Paul. Though, it's like his mom had motherly super powers, as soon as he stepped out into the hall he saw his mom standing outside her door.

"Where do you think your going." She asked him. "It's one in the morning, Percy."

"I know mom, but I need to get out." His mom was giving him a look. "It's nightmares, okay? Just let me go for a swim. Please."

She sighed, "Just get back in time for school, and don't get too tired" She hugged him, "Be safe."

"I will." He responded already heading for the door. Percy was starting to feel claustrophobic in his small apartment.
He slipped out into the hall silently, walking over to the stairwell. Percy didn't think he could ever use an elevator again, after what happened to him and Annabeth. Then he started wondering how she was doing, this visit to his mother was the first time he and Wise Girl were really apart since they got out of that place. He shuddered as he thought of her having to go through one of those awful nightmares alone. Only the he could help her out of one of those, and only she could help him out his. Ever since they left, he and Annabeth had terrible dreams, demigod dreams, and flashbacks of that dreadful place. One time at camp while he was teaching a class, he passed out and slipped into a dream, everyone tried, but only Annabeth could wake him up.

He swayed on the spot, vision blurring, losing consciousness. No! No, passing out today. He told himself sternly. It worked, he could see more clearly, and his head stopped spinning. Percy started walking again, taking two steps at a time down towards the lobby. He rushed outside and took a deep breath of somewhat clean New York air. Exhaling, he set off, heading to the sea. The one place, other then camp and his apartment, he felt completely at ease and safe. He took a running leap off of the dock and plunged into the water. Instantly, he felt rejuvenated and strong, ready to take on the world. (Well not really, he had already done that once with Gaea.) He took in the beauties of the ocean, the coral, fish, and hippocampi swimming near him. Good day, my lord, one said to him. Sup, he replied. Percy bent the waves to his will, making him speed through the water faster than any swimmer ever could go. He didn't really know where he was going, but he did know that this felt great!

It felt like he had only had one minute in the water, but he knew it had been a few hours swam to the surface. Percy looked around for mortals before getting out off the water, but saw none so he lept ashore, with help from the waves, completely dry. Percy knew he should go home before school to tell his mom he was fine, but he did not have the time so he just IMed her.

Manipulating the water to turn to mist he said, "Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, accept my offering. Sally Jackson, upstate New York." the mist shimmered, and his mother appeared before him. (And no, not the Mist, just mist.) "Mom!" He yelled to get her attention.

She turned, looking for the source of the voice, "Percy where are you! You have been gone for hours!" she yelled back at him.

"Sorry, stayed longer than expected. I can't come home before school, but I knew you would be worrying."

"Oh, well have a nice day honey, glad to know your okay." She said, a look of relief crossing her face.

"Bye, mom!" He said as he swiped his and through the image, making it disappear. Percy ran across the beach, taking the fastest root to Goode High School.

Captain Nick Fury

The captain sat at his desk, rubbing his temples. He was staring at grainy footage taken from a local surfing shop's security cameras. The cameras captured a young man, about 18, taking a running leap into the ocean water. That might be normal if the young man was not fully clothed, and had come up for air. But he was fully clothed, and hadn't come up for air for quite awhile. The next video he watched was of the same boy emerging from the water at a velocity no human could ever reach. A possible Inhuman, he would need to research this. The captain put the boys picture through his state of the art, facial recognition software. Percy Jackson, that was his name. I looked up his records from SHIELDs database.

And that's all it said, that angered the captain. He had so little on this mysterious, Perseus Jackson. He was determined to find more, this boy is strange, Fury will know why. He knew just who to call.

"Agent Romanoff, I've got a mission for you."
