This fanfic takes place in the earlier seasons.
Meredith walked up to the unfamiliar building. Her heart thudded in her chest as she reached for the handle, opening the door with a small push. Meredith walked over to the receptionist's desk and spoke in a shaky, uncertain voice.
"Hi, I, uh, I'm looking for Richard Webber's office, uh, the chief," she said. The young receptionist smiled warmly and nodded, "Take the elevator to floor 3. When you get off, go down the hallway to your right. His office is right down there."
Meredith smiled slightly, "Thank you," she said quietly before rushing to the elevator. She pressed the button and luckily the elevator came right away. Meredith sighed and stepped into the elevator, pressing the button that said '3'.
"Hold it!" a woman's voice said, followed by the sound of running high-heels. Meredith stuck her hand in between the doors and the doors opened up, revealing an attractive red-head. The woman smiled warmly and entered the small elevator, "Thanks," she said, pressing the button that said '5'.
"I'm Addison. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd," she said, extending her hand. "I'm Meredith Grey," Meredith replied, shaking Addison's hand, "Nice to meet you, Addison," she added.
Addison smiled, "Grey, as in Ellis Grey?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. Meredith sighed. "Yes, Ellis is, uh, my mother." Addison nodded, "She's a legend. So, I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are you here for?"
Meredith smiled slightly, she was starting to like Addison. "I was just transferred here from, uh, Boston. I'm going to talk to the chief, uh, Richard Webber because it's my first day and I don't know what to do," Meredith talked rapidly, her nerves getting the best of her.
Just as she stopped talking the doors to the elevator opened. "Oh uh, this is my stop, see you, uh, around, Addison," she muttered, stepping off the elevator and making her way to the chief's office.
Author- So.. this is my first Grey's fanfic, so yeah. I know this is short but it's just kinda the prologue.
