"Good morning, Gary." SpongeBob cheerfully greeted his snail as he walked into his living room.
"Meow." Gary replied, watching the weather report on TV.
"And we are expecting anywhere from 2 to 200 inches of snow." the weather reporter said. "Best to be prepared with anywhere from a little bit of panic to a truckload of it."
"Wow." SpongeBob stated, sounding surprised. "A snowstorm with 2 to 200 inches of snow? I love snow!"
"Meow." Gary answered, sounding skeptical.
"Welp, have a good day, Gary!" SpongeBob stated as he pulled on his winter hat and scarf in anticipation of the coming storm. "See you after work!"
SpongeBob then headed outside and met up with Squidward, who was trudging along the path to the Krusty Krab as well.
"Good morning, Squidward!" SpongeBob greeted his neighbor. "Did you hear about the snow?"
"Just what I want." Squidward grumbled. "To go work a less than minimum wage job with a blizzard on the way."
"Oh Squidward!" SpongeBob chuckled. "Snow is wonderful!"
"If you like freezing weather and treacherous walking conditions leading to us breaking our neck thanks to Mr. Krabs being too cheap to close down the Krusty Krab when no customers are going to be leaving their houses anyway." Squidward retorted.
"I'm sure everyone is going to be out enjoying the snow." SpongeBob assured him. "I'm sure we'll be hopping with customers today!"
"SpongeBob, is it hard being so out of touch with reality or is it a natural born talent?" Squidward questioned.
"Of course I was born this way." SpongeBob answered. "I couldn't possibly make myself so lucky."
"Why do I even ask?" Squidward muttered.
A few minutes later, SpongeBob and Squidward arrived at the Krusty Krab. As they opened the front door to the restaurant, a cool breeze came through the air, indicating that snow was on the way.
"Ahoy Krusty crew!" Mr. Krabs said to his employees. "Are ye ready for another day of money?"
"Mr. Krabs, you do realize nobody is going to come here in a blizzard don't you?" Squidward pointed out.
"Nonsense, Mr. Squidward!" Mr. Krabs responded. "In fact, I even added some seasonally overpriced hot chocolate to our menu for this special occasion."
"Of course you did." Squidward mumbled under his breath as he took his spot at the register.
"I can't wait for the storm, Mr. Krabs." SpongeBob announced. "I'm so excited to see the beautiful snow and all the customers eagerly drinking hot cocoa and enjoying the friendly warmth of the Krusty Krab."
"That's the spirit SpongeBob!" Mr. Krabs praised him. "As for you, Mr. Squidward, you could learn a few lessons from the boy on positivity."
"I'm positive that being open today is a terrible idea." Squidward acknowledged.
"That's the spirit, Squidward." SpongeBob replied joyfully.
Squidward muttered under his breath and stared angrily at the empty restaurant, waiting to see what other kind of nonsense awaited him that day.
