This was one of the few times in her life Kaoru didn't jump headfirst into something.

Kaoru wasn't one to think things over. She wasn't the dumbest person out there, she knew, she just preferred to blast in full force and take no prisoners. You got out of her way, surrendered, or were blown out of the water. That was the type of girl she was.

No one, not matter how brash or stupid they may or may not be, would jump headfirst into this.

She'd always been the odd one out in the trio, and she frankly preferred it that way. You'd never see her in a mall with them, shopping extensively for girl clothes or buying pounds of snacks just to watch Momoko eat them all. Likewise, you wouldn't see them on the soccer team or skateboarding to school with her.

They were each other's balance. The feminity Kaoru lacked and the non-subtlety Momoko and Miyako needed to break things to people they wouldn't be able to do themselves.

And now they were considering stepping past a line they'd been trying to draw for years.

Momoko and Miyako had crossed first, lacking the mass amounts of willpower Kaoru had about things like this, sealing the deal by announcing their relationship to the professor, Ken, Peachu, and she herself. And while Kaoru had congratulated them like everyone else, she'd started avoiding them for what she hoped was the better.

It was only know they'd made her realize it wasn't for the best, and that they weren't going to take no without a legitimate reason.

They stood in front of her now, both looking expectant as they each held a hand out to her, fingers outstretched, waiting for her own to join there's. The sun is melodramatically setting in the background behind them, a perfect romance movie cliché. Any other day, she would have fake-gagged, but today it has her heart pounding for no logical reason.

They all know that if they cross this line, this boundary they had quietly put up to keep themselves from giving in to their emotions, Kaoru wouldn't change. She wouldn't start being less stubborn, or start showing what little she had of a girly side more often, or even start surrendering to reason, but they don't care. They wanted her, had wanted her, for years, just like she had wanted them.

Even after listing everything that could go wrong out loud, after trying to deny what was going through all of them, Kaoru still couldn't find it in her to care no matter what she said.

She sighed, not irritable, more relieved. She had given in, something she hadn't done willingly for years, and she knows that while they're both just as happy as she, they'll rub her nose in it later.

She grabs their hands, almost softly, something very unlike her, intertwining her fingers in there's and yanking them both to her for a small embrace, her face a deep red color.

They walk down the street to the lab later, Kaoru in the middle with Momoko's arm wrapped possessively around her waist and Miyako's head curled into her shoulder, and can't help but know she'd made the right decision to give in.

Even if they'll rub her nose in it later.

Review! I'd always like writing odd couples that no one really thinks of, so I just had to write this one. If you don't like it, well, that's what the back button is for, like I said earlier. If you didn't like it, why are you reading the bottom's author note? Click back!

I know its short, but It's just a drabble, so it doesn't have to be long.
