(I made this story to be as original, where L was supposed to be a father to both Near and Mello and added Matt in as well to my story). This is my very first story so I'm so very sorry if its a little soppy. Please let me know whether you guys liked it or not. I hope that you do!
The kids were asleep in their room.
The world famous detective, L, was a dad to 3 boys, Mello, Matt and Near. Matt was the eldest(8) followed by Mello(7) and lastly Near(4). Matt and Mello were the best of friends and got on along very well with each other. Therefore Near ended up getting left out. However he was not completely alone.
Since Near was the youngest, he was also the closest of the 3 to L. And though L too loved all of his sons, he too loved Near the most. The two had the sweetest father son relationship that any father and son could dream of. Near often sat sleeping close to his dad on his knee while Matt was playing with his electronic gadgets and Mello was watching alongside him. Or he was the one lying on his dad's chest while all the kids were huddled around him. L too took him in his lap and always read to him before bedtime every night.
This particular night was quite stormy. Heavy rain was pouring down and soon lightning followed as well. The sound of it was loud and deep and, as guessed, quite frightening too. Mello and Matt were older and bore it bravely. It was made easier for them because they had each other. But not so much for poor Near who was alone and the littlest and so the sound ended up frightening him more than either of the other two. At the first flash, he whimpered and trembled and remembering L, left the room to find his big, warm and safe dad. L was asleep in his own bedroom and upon hearing Nears soft sobs, woke up and after seeing tears running down his little cheeks and his little body shaking all over, lovingly lifted him up into his own bed and held him close to himself in a hug where little Near immediately buried his face in his chest and held his shirt tightly. He stroked his soft white hair gently and kissed him and said: "It's ok, Daddy's here.. Daddy's got you. I won't let anything happen to you." He fell peacefully asleep in a while after the comfort and slept soundly through till morning. But the sight of the two of them was one of the sweetest in the world
