It's another day at Domino High. Most of the students are playing basketball outside while try to peek up girls skirts while other kids stay inside and hang out or play card games. Meanwhile a tall blonde named Joey Wheeler and his brunette friend Tristan Taylor are throwing around a shiny golden box with an eye of horus on it. A short boy with spiky maroon hair and violet eyes runs back and forth, trying to catch it and yelling, "give it back, that's my treasure!" This boy is Yugi Mutou, he's pretty shy, and prefers card games to sports.

Meanwhile outside, A new girl with deep crimson hair and green eyes named Ashley Magia catches a boy looking up her skirt while she shoots a basket. She blushes profusely before proceeding to punch the boy, who must've been a few years older than her, so hard that he gets a bad nosebleed. A short haired brunette named Tea Gardner must've seen this, because she walks off and back into the school. Ashley, still beet red, heads into the school as well and goes to a nearby water fountain to take a drink.

The faint sound of yelling catches Ashley's attention, and she goes to investigate. She sees two of the school's bullies looking defeated, a short kid she recognises from a few of her classes looking relieved, and the girl from outside seemingly talking down the two bullies. She moves out of the way as the bullies leave the room and walks in awkwardly, but to her surprise she's greeted cheerily by the two still in there. Yugi gives a small smile, "hi there."

Tea gives a larger smile, "hey, its you from the basketball game, nice job decking that perv."

Ashley blushes a bit and says, "hiya, it was just a reflex really, but I'm glad i did it."

Yugi seems a bit intimidated, but says, "I recognise you from some of my classes, my name's Yugi, and this is Tea."

Ashley smiles a bit, already liking how friendly these two are. "I'm Ashley, so what were those two doing?" She asks this referring to Joey and Tristan.

Yugi looks down, "they said they were trying to make a man out of me. They took my most prised possession and were throwing it around until Tea came and took it from them."

Ashley frowns, "that's so terrible though, If it's important to you then they shouldn't treat it like a football." She looks to the small golden box in curiosity and asks, "what exactly is it though?"

Tea looks to him too, "I was actually wondering the same thing."

He smiles, "well, I guess i can show you guys." He opens the box to reveal a large 3D puzzle, the metal pieces clanking together. He smiles as the two look at it in awe, picking out some of the pieces. "It's called the millenium puzzle, and my grandpa discovered it in an ancient pharaoh's tomb." He holds two of the pieces out to let them hold.

Ashley gently takes the metal piece, she can practically sense how old it is, the cool metal sending a small tingling feeling up her arm. She hands it back to him, "that's awesome, owning something so old must feel really special."

He nods as he takes them back, putting them back in the box. "Yeah, and I like to believe that it'll grant a wish to whoever solves it."

Ashley smiles, but then jumps a bit as the bell rings, "well, it was nice meeting you guys, good luck with solving your puzzle Yugi!" She grabs her bag and runs home, glad that she made new friends.
