Gay love can pierce the veil of death and save the day
A/N... so me and my friends were messing about with a rainbow slinky and this idea...happened...
Castiel understood his mission.
"Castiel, you must raise the righteous man from perdition."
This is what led him to this point. At First he planned to enter Hell, and approach the righteous man in person, however if he was to dare and journey that far into hell anything could happen. As strong and tactful as Castiel was, this mission was way too important to mess up. The fate of humanity now rested on his shoulders, the creatures he had watched grow over centuries to make it here, and with so much potential… he was determined to save them.
Castiel had figured out most of his plan. To enter the first few layers of Hell, where the bankers and politicians tended to remain, then find some way of pulling the righteous man out…He shook his head to clear his thoughts.
Usually walking the streets helped clear his head, but now Castiel was getting desperate. Until he passed a small corner shop, and something in the window caught his eye. Yes. That would do nicely.
….
Castiel hissed at the strong heat surrounding him, although his temperature was not affected on Earth, the fires of Hell were a different matter. He flinched slightly thinking of how his feathers must look now, singed most likely. Castiel shook his head for the second time that day and commenced his plan.
Castiel channelled his Grace into the large Rainbow Slinky he had purchased for the mission before throwing one end down to the Righteous man. The spring caught onto the damaged soul and sprung back up to where Castiel was. Castiel allowed a small moment of joy until the soul flies straight up past him (maybe he had put a little too much Grace into the slinky) but he only had a few moments to be annoyed at his stupidity when he too was pulled up and flung through the upper layers of Hell.
Castiel managed to still the momentum and landed hard on Earth. He could hear his brothers and sisters in his head, all asking if the mission was complete. Panicking he pieced the Righteous man back together again, pulling him together with a hand on his shoulder (he left the mark so no angel was suspicious about Castiel's…method of retrieving the Righteous man). Castiel placed the healed man back in his grave (where he was told to leave him) and turned, staring up at the heavens.
"Dean Winchester (through totally conventional methods) has been saved!"
…
In a few years' time, when Dean finds himself on a case at Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical Menagerie, he would see a large rainbow slinky and somewhere in the back of his mind, he feels as though there is something he's forgotten, as if he should remember something…
And later still, when Cas is looking around the Batcave, he finds the Rainbow slinky and shares a secret smile with himself, remembering when life was simple and when the most important being in the world was saved by a rainbow slinky…
