Just a drabble for you guys. I'm really not feeling my 'Blue Eyes' story very much right now. I'm not getting the response that used to get, and the most recent chapter that I uploaded barely got 50 views, and that just doesn't sit right with me, so unless I get some overwhelming feed back I'm just going to finish it where it is and not give a lot of closure to characters or plot lines.
But other than that, please enjoy this pretty depressing drabble that I've cooked up for you
Facerange was an evil place; Eli had decided this as he scrolled through the newsfeed for what felt like the millionth time. His finger was itching to check the one profile that he tried the hardest to avoid, however as always he found himself typing in the familiar name into the search bar, his fingers barely tracing the letters that would be forever etched into his brain.
This time was different, a lot different. "She defriended me…" Eli's flitted around the page as he took the in profile picture of his ex-girlfriend, because that was the only thing that her privacy settings would let him see. Her blue eyes twinkling as she laughed at something off camera, a true smile spread across her face; her smile was something Eli missed, she didn't smile much during the last few weeks of their relationship.
Keeping his eyes trained on the screen, he felt around for his phone, and pressed 2 on his speed-dial and waited for his best friend to answer.
"ELI! Have you got the new…"
"Shut up Adam, this isn't about comics, I need your facerange password, and I need it now."
"My facerange…why would you need…?" There was a long silence and Eli could imagine Adam's face falling, "Eli, you don't need my password, its time to move on. Checking her profile won't make things any easier."
"Password Adam…NOW!"
Adam sighed, "Skat3boarding5623"
Eli was already typing in the password when he hung up without saying bye to Adam, and he would get mocked for his weird password later.
The 5 seconds it took for the homepage to load and the waiting for her profile to load was even longer; when it finally flashed up, Eli wished he hadn't even thought about phoning Adam for his password, because what he saw made his heart shatter all over again.
She was happy…and engaged. He always imagined that he would marry Clare, but things changed he guess. He scrolled down through all the congratulations posts from all their mutual friends when she changed her status to engaged; he flicked through pictures of her most recent holiday with her fiancé, some guy she must have went to TU with because Eli had never heard of him.
His stomach knotted itself again as he thought about Clare giving up her own dreams of going to school in New York, so there would be less of a chance to running into Eli, although at the time Eli had been so happy about that because he couldn't even see a picture of her without anger filling him up, but now he was sad. He missed Clare, but it didn't seem like she missed him at all.
Eli blinked when he noticed a status buried in amongst profile updates and questions about homework. It was just one status, but it made Eli feel slightly better about the situation because on some level he knew it was true.
You never forget your first love, and you never get over them…
Signing out of Adam's profile, he flopped back onto his mattress and sighed again, he and Clare would always love each other, even if they weren't meant to be. Maybe one day, when they are older and wiser, they could go back to being friends. Because he missed Clare, his friend.
Now I'm a die hard Eclare fan, but I'm just not in the best place right now, and this is just a bi-product of a foul mood!
Hope you all don't hate me too much! Please remember to review and to check out 'Blue Eyes'! I'm willing to hold out to the end of the month before making my decision.
Thanks for reading!
