A/N: Hi lovelies! I normally don't read/write tragedy because I feel like I'm setting myself up for disappointment, but I was so inspired by the song Terrible Things by Mayday Parade. Mayday Parade is one of my favorite bands, and Draco/Hermione is my favorite couple even if they're not canon. I know there are probably different stories that are similar, but I want to make my own version. It is going to quote the lyrics not exactly verbatim but as if Draco is saying them just so you know. Thank you for reading! I hope you all like it and please review!

Terrible Things

"Dad, can you tell me about mom?" My six year old son, Scorpious, asked.

I had told stories to Scorpious about Hermione, but since he doesn't remember her well he asks about her every now and then.

"Sure, son" I reply. I sit him down on a chair in front of me and as I take a deep breath I begin.

"Before meeting your mom, falling in love truly was all I wanted. And then I met your mother the girl of my dreams, the most beautiful woman, that I'd ever seen," I took another deep breath before continuing.

"She said, 'Boy can I tell you a wonderful thing? I can't help but notice, you're staring at me. I know I shouldn't say this, but I really believe, I can tell by your eyes that you're in love with me,'"

"Wow dad, was she right?" he asked,

"Yes she was, son. I can honestly say I fell in love with her from the first time I laid my eyes on her. Now son, I'm only telling you this because life," I hesitated, "can do terrible things."

"Now son, most of the time, we had too much to drink. We'd share everything as we stared at the stars. We were too young to notice and too dumb to care."

"Wow, your love is a story that can't compare dad," Scorpious said.

"Yes, son it was," I replied choking back the tears.

"After I said 'Girl, can I ask you a wonderful thing? I'm asking you, please. You know that I love you, will you marry me?'"

"Now son, you'll learn one day, I hope and I pray that God, shows you differently," I said, as a tear finally streamed down my face

"She said 'Boy can I tell you a terrible thing? It seems that I'm sick and I've only got weeks. Please, don't be sad now, I really believe you were the greatest thing that ever happened to me.'" Tears were going down my face freely now, it hurt so much to know she was gone.

"Son, after that, I fell to the ground, on my knees. And now I'm telling you: don't fall in love there's just too much to lose. If given the choice then please choose, to walk away, don't let her get to you. I can't bear to see the same happen to you."

"Now son, I'm only telling you this because life, can do terrible things."
