This takes place before Bella comes to Forks.
"You know, Edward..." Emmet said and trailed off into a fit of laughter. "What? What?!?" Edward said, annoyed. "Well," Esme said, "We know that you haven't found a mate yet, and..." "And we think you should change who you're looking for," finished Alice. "What on Earth are you talking about?!" Edward demanded, his family was doing a nice job keeping their minds off-topic-- he couldn't read them. "I've done some research, and it is possible..." Carlisle said in a matter-of-factly voice. Then Rosalie said, bluntly, "We think you're gay." Emmet burst into another roaring fit of laughter.
