Misc. Notes: Ah, Trustshipping, my first OTP ever. This was written for a kiss meme by dA user Insanity-24-7, prompt "Good Morning Kiss." They're married here, because I CAN.
Seto is always an early riser; he's always in a rush to get to work and manage what's going on around him. She's tried to tell him, many times, that time runs smoothly even when he isn't there to direct it. But he has never been interested in a future he can't control.
So it is rare that she wakes before him. Today, though, some out-of-place sound wakes Isis at 4:30 a.m. while Seto sleeps on. She slips out of bed to use the bathroom. When she returns, she finds that the motion must have woken Seto. He has turned on his bedside lamp and is sitting up.
"Go back to sleep," she admonishes in a whisper. "You have a half-hour left."
"Why're you awake?"
He works so hard that even a half-hour's lack in his sleeping schedule leaves his voice muddy and indistinct. Isis climbs back into bed and lies back, hoping that he will imitate her.
"No reason. I had to go to the bathroom. Go back to sleep."
He shakes his head. "Now that I'm awake, I should—"
So she sits up and embraces him; then, with her arms still tight around him, she leans back again. He has no choice but to lie down with her.
"You will have plenty of time to work later. Relax."
He touches her cheek and they kiss, but there is an air of apology to it. He's not going to listen to her. Isis looks at him reproachfully as he pulls away. "I hope you fall asleep in the middle of an important meeting today."
He halfway-smiles. "Hasn't happened yet."
