A melody… A beautiful tinkling melody…

The shackles restraining my wrists fell away, releasing me of blood-red pain. The image of the vengeful mercenary who had captured me appeared before me, but instead of her warrior's attire, she was dressed in a strange, foreign uniform. A… non-threatening uniform.

Fetters around my ankles released themselves and crushing sadness was lifted from my heart. I gasped as if I had just broken through the surface of thrashing waves. A second figure joined the red-clad female. The prince who had been hurt deeply when the beautiful maiden of green was murdered by my sister. He too wore alien clothing that confused me.

Both figures wore the same smile. It wasn't a glorious, cloud-parting grin, but a small, swift upturning on the mouth. It was a smile that said: I forgive you.

Finally, a third person joined them. A girl with flowing green hair and a radiant smile that conjured such feelings of relief within me that I doubled over. Her smile was just a projection of the Prince of Blue's and the Daughter of Vengeance's – I forgive you… and I want to be your friend.

Tears spilled over my face. If they could forgive me, I could perhaps forgive myself for my misdeeds.

The glorious melody continued to flow through the air, but I soon felt as if it was flowing through my soul. It lifted me higher and higher until I felt as light as air. I gave myself into the mysterious song and-

My eyelids fluttered open. A girl whom I was very familiar with hovered over me. Short, blonde hair framed her face and bright teal irises ringed her large pupils. After studying her for a moment, I noticed more details. Worry creased her face and her eyes shown with such concern and… nervousness? What would the princess have to be nervous for? Without a conscious command, my lips formed the words, "I'm glad you're safe, princess, but for what reason are you worried?"

A large tear rolled down her cheek and she wiped it away hastily. She shook her head with a relieved smile. "No, Len, you don't understand."

Len… Len? Why would the princess use my given name? I sat up unsteadily and gazed around me. The Prince of Blue… Kaito? He smiled at me as if he'd known me for years. The Daughter of Vengeance stood beside him… Meiko was it? Her expression mirrored his as she gave a snarky grin. And the Daughter of Green… Miku. She was there too.

My eyes trailed back to my princess- my sister. Rin. Rin Kagamine was here as well and now, there were no adults to separate us. We could act the way siblings behaved. I could befriend these people that I'd made enemies of in a lifetime that seemed so far behind me. A new world, a new life… a rebirth.
