comments: Actually trying to get
myself in the mood to begin my SEED fic. Plus I don't
believe that the Asu/Cag and Kira/Lacus
relationships are going to go all that smoothly now that the war is ended. I
mean honestly... they all have problems. I just can't see that 5 minute OVA,
when actually thinking it out. But, you know, that's just me... and I like
angst. Heh.

She cannot breathe, cannot return to the rational, cool logic she had held so dear only minutes ago. She cannot believe at the strength of emotion flooding through her, tearing her apart, and piecing her together again.
She can only stare, hand hanging in the air between them.
She steps back, biting at the inside of her lip, needing the pain to get through this. Needing the pain to pass through her, needing to appear unaffected.
She smiles.
"Of course, Asuran..."
So sweet, so understanding. So unlike her, she knew. And in his eyes, a confused flicker - he does not understand at the change within her.
She wants to scream, wants to blame him for it all. But she will not. She cannot. She has to wait, wait until he is gone, wait until he is once again out of her life, wait as he once again fails to realize what their relationship is becoming, before she can break down again.
"Then... Cagalli." So mannered, so polite, so perfectly fucking versed in etiquette, he bows to her, taking a step forward to brush a kiss against her cheek. She manages to maintain her brittle smile as he leaves her.
Again.
Always fucking leaving, always with an excuse. Always putting his life on the line to protect her country, her people, her friends, and never realizing how much she needed him with her. Not out there. Not fighting again.
She feels the tears come to her eyes, as they always do when he hurts her. So easily. So uncontrollable.
He turns at the door, offering another smile, still confused, still worried. But still ready to leave.
"I'll see you when you return," she calls gently, still standing there.
He hesitates. Nods. Walks out the door.
She curses him wildly the moment the door is closed, slamming her fist against her desk, throwing things to the floor in a childish display of anger.
"Damn it, damn it, damn you!"
