Ahhh, what an episode! I knew they were going to cop out with the whole mole thing. Grumble. But I didn't see Fi's arrest coming! So I wrote this, which basically takes place during those final seconds. I added the lyrics of Lady Antebellum's Cold As Stone at the end, which is a marvelous song and was playing in my head during that last scene. Check it out! Anyway, on with the reading! Enjoy!

Fiona's words raced through his mind, stuck on a continuous loop. The letter slipped from his hand, fluttering to the ground. How could she do this?

She turned around, looking at him with a deep sadness etched into her beautiful features. The handcuffs were secured on her slender wrists, effectively crushing his heart.

Overhead, the sunny sky suddenly gave way to clouds and threatened to rain, but he didn't notice it. He was focused on Fiona, trying to instill his strength and determination into her. He would find a way to get her out of this.

He had to.

She gave him a soft, sad smile before they led her inside, and Michael felt the first raindrop hit his head, followed quickly by another. This couldn't be happening.

The looming doors leading into the massive building slammed shut, effectively removing her from his sight, and his gut clenched.

Another raindrop hit him, and slowly he leaned down, picking up the letter and straightening it out before he tucked it safely into his pocket. She loved him. She trusted him. She had faith in him. And he had let her down. In all of his effort to get his life back, he had lost the only person who was more important than the job and life he'd once had.

The rain started to fall in earnest, hitting his skin with brutal force. He saw people scurrying to take cover, and he wished he could do the same. He wished he could walk away from this, and if this was any other person in the world, he could have. But it wasn't. It was Fi, and he could never walk away from her. Not again.

Some time later, he turned around and headed back to the Charger, his steps slow and deliberate as if he expected her to walk right back out of the building at any moment. But that wasn't going to happen. Not unless he could find a way to get her out.

He looked at the building again, and a boiling rage began to bubble up.

"I'll get you out of there, Fi. I swear to God, I'll get you out."

Getting into the Charger, he buckled himself in before peeling out of the parking lot.

He was going to get her out, if it was the last thing he did.

Wish I was cold as stone

Then I wouldn't feel a thing

Wish I didn't have this heart

Then I wouldn't know the sting of the rain

I could stand strong and still

Watching you walk away

I wouldn't hurt like this

Or feel so all alone

I wish I was cold as stone

The End.

A/N: Six months! Argggh! I have a sneaking suspicion that this will not be the last story for this ep. Six months to go... And for those of you reading When Hell Breaks Loose, I will continue that as is! Thanks for reading, and please review!
