Prologue
The massive black wolf lifted her crania. Her serene blue eyes gazed out of the soft fern den. She stepped out, the persistent murky fog which surrounded the packs' camp moistened her fur. Stretching, she felt the energy flow through her awakening body. The morning sounds of the Lupine pack filled her ears, including the commanding bark of Hiro, the packs' beta, organising the patrols. The she-wolf padded forward, placing earth-hardened paws on the ground. She settled amongst the rest of the pack, her head dipped in respect to Hiro. "Manu," called the Beta, "You lead a border patrol with Nimbis, Dawn, Varus and," Hiro paused, his gaze sweeped the remaining wolves in the clearing. "Saige."
