For Nothing and Everyone

A poem, this is the only place I could think of putting it. For those who feel weighted by current ways of life.

An Ode to That Which was and Should be

Thou shall not live to see

That which shall not be seen

The life we knew has past

Now ruled by the screen

Decline of life is there

In front of us

Yet we fail to see or comprehend

An endless chorus

This world we know

I know no longer

Misunderstanding and ignorance

Growing ever stronger

In this world we do not know

Where we stand

Or where we are

Among this land

Where we go

We cannot say

We may cast off the shackles of ignorance

And burn the screenplay

Of the single mind

To which we conform

Never more trodden down

We together can transform

This life we so loathe

Rise to the challenge

To speak above

Those for which we scavenge

Time to learn to say no

Take back the life we want.
