As the young Jack Morrison sat down his pulse rifle after a hard mission he was joined by his teammate, Ana Amari.
"Nice shooting out there Jack," Ana commented as she sat down across a table from him.
"You too Ana," Jack replied offhandedly.
"Are you okay Jack? Do I need to get Mercy?" The young sniper asked worriedly.
"Oh, yeah I'm fine. I was just thinking about something." He replied.
"Oh? About what?"
"Well there's this one lady that has caught my attention but I don't know how to ask her out. We've been friends for a while so I don't want to mess up the relationship."
"Oh." Was all that Ana could respond with. She never took Jack for a having a crush on someone. He was friendly to everyone but she couldn't see him with anyone. "Well, why don't you ask her out on a date?" She said after a second.
"You think that'll work?"
"Well of course, if they are your friend then they'll at least go on a simple date."
He chuckled, "Thanks, Ana, I'll go ask her right now."
"Good luck!"
She was a little confused when he stayed where he was and kept looking at her. Then everything clicked into place.
"Ana, will you go out on a date with me?" The young soldier asked.
Time froze for a moment for Ana as everything stopped. Secretly she has had feelings for him for a while. But she never thought that he would make a move. Outside of her head time seemed to be moving normally, enough so to warrant a response from Jack.
"Ana? Are you okay?" Jack asked worriedly as he stared at her.
Ana snapped back into reality.
"Y-yes."
"Yes, what?"
"Yes, I will go on a date with you Jack."
"Yes!" Jack yelled as he jumped up in the air excited.
"Hehehehe." Ana could only laugh as she saw Jack jumping around the room.
Unknown the either of them Reinhardt, Torbjorn, Gabriel, and Liao were hiding behind a corner listening to the conversation. They rushed to another trying to stifle their laughter.
When the group got to a different room they burst out laughing.
"Okay, okay. Let's place our bets on how long this'll last." The German said
"Ten bucks says they don't last one date." Said Gabriel throwing a ten-dollar bill on the table
"I think they'll last a little longer than that. I say fifteen for two dates." The small Swedish man said putting fifteen bucks on the table
"Guys cmon. Be a little supportive of our friends." Liao started saying "I say they will grow up happily and have a nice family."
"Ha like that's gonna happen," Gabriel said
"Hurry everyone they are coming," Reinhardt said and quickly putting the money away.
"Hey guys, what's going on?" Jack said as he and Ana walked into the room holding hands.
"I think the bigger question is what's going on with you two?" Liao asked noticing the hand holding.
"Well, that's what we were about to explain." Ana started explaining. "Jack here asked me out so I guess we are dating now."
Everyone in the room roared their approval. They all knew it was going to happen even before they heard the conversation. It had been painfully obvious they liked each other and were too dense to notice.
"I say we throw a party to celebrate!" the German yelled
"Yeah let's do it," Jack said
And so, the six of them threw a party all night long. Luckily, they didn't have a mission tomorrow.
