Never leave me
''I'm leaving''. That was all she said.
My eyes snapped open, what did she just say?. ''What! No you cant leave''. My eyes started to sting from tears that threatened to fall ''Please Shizuru...Please don't go, you promised me that you would never leave me''. Still in an embrace I lifted my head to look into my friends crimson eyes. Those beautiful eyes that were also filling with sadness and tears.
''I know I promised, but have to Natsuki, I'm sorry''. She brushed some of my hair out of my eyes and behind my ear. ''Why? This is ridiculous, there has to be a reason...why are you saying these things Shizuru''. I pulled out of the hug and took a step back. I stood there staring at her, she lowered her head slightly so her hair hid her face. ''It's complicated.'' her voice lowered to a near whisper. ''I don't believe this, everything we've been through'' the anger now evident in my voice and tears streaming down my face ''You just want to throw all that away?''
She lifted her head back up to look at me, I noticed the tears falling from those crimson orbs. ''Like I said, its something that I can't explain''.
''Try''. That's all I said grabbing her hands and slowly rubbing my thumbs over the backs of them. We stood there for what seemed like an eternity.
''I can't''.
''Why not?''
''Natsu-''
''Is it because of what happened during the carnival?''
''No''
''Then why then?, you can tell me'' I let go of her hands and lightly gripped her arms. ''…...Its because my feelings are disgusting and wrong.'' The tears started to fall again from both our eyes, I pulled her close. ''No, don't you ever think that, your feelings are not wrong. I don't hate you for loving me.'' She held onto me like I was a life raft whilst I spoke these words. I started to rub her back, trying to calm her down '' In fact...'' I pulled back just enough to look at her again, I moved some hair out of her eyes this time, ''The truth is, I love you too'' then pushing my own fears aside our lips met. I felt all Shizuru's muscles tighten through the boldness of my action, then she loosened up while I gently caressed her lips with mine.
After breaking the kiss for much needed air, I wiped the tears from her face and looked into her eyes, which were now filled with the endless love I wished to see when I realised my true feelings for her. Shizuru leaned forward so our foreheads were touching a true smile on both our faces. " I honestly thought that it would take you longer to realise what your heart wanted Natsuki." she said between giggles. "Baka." I chuckled "So..are you going to leave me now you know?" I asked in a near whisper. "I'll stay with you always." She replied before sealing that promise with a kiss.
