A/N: I don't own Soul Eater. This probably won't update often.
Week one:
Maka decided that Soul's solo missions were gonna be the death of her. It wasn't that she was lonely. In fact, she enjoyed a few days to herself. She could study without interruption and she didn't have to worry about anyone burning dinner. But that left room for worry in other subjects. Subjects like her partner's wellbeing. So far, the worst injury that he had come home with was a bruised cheek from where the pre-kishin had gotten in a punch. She knew she didn't need to worry. Soul could handle himself. She still worried though. She always would.
Week 3:
The mission was taking a lot longer than previously expected. 'Nothing to worry about' Soul had mumbled when Maka had asked what kept going wrong. She had taken to putting on Soul's records to make the apartment less quiet. She hoped that Soul and Kid would kick this pre-kishin soon. Maka hated to admit it but burnt curry sounded delicious compared to another silent night.
Week 6: Maka hadn't heard from Soul or Kid for five days. She reminded herself repeatedly that maybe they hadn't had the chance to call due to following the kishin out of cell range. Maka admitted that she would love to see Soul again.
Week 9: Kid called. Soul was MIA. 'Not dead just missing' Maka told herself. Not dead just missing.
Week ten: Kid called again. Soul's funeral was scheduled for next week. The kishin was gone.
