This trilogy is amazing. Just like everything else Brandon Mull writes. The ending was positively devastating though and I will never get over how heartbroken it made me. This is written with the pairing of Rachel and Jason.
Disclaimer: I don't own Lyrian or these characters. Brandon Mull does.
Rachel was working as a botanist. It had been three years since her return home. She was 22, but only 19 according to how time had moved here. Her parents had found Lyrian hard to swallow, but they did believe her. Rachel missed it. She missed her friends there. As every day passed though, she thought of it less and less. She easily fell into her daily routine.
She was working at a floral shop now. She enjoyed it. It wasn't the job she imagined herself in as a little girl, but she hadn't wanted to continue her schooling.
Today had been different. She had noticed a man lurking around outside the shop. He would peer in often, but never entered. He looked to be in his mid-twenties and there was something familiar about him, but Rachel couldn't place it. Rachel watched him from behind the counter. He turned and their eyes locked.
Rachel looked down and fiddled with random papers as the bell above the door chimed. She heard footsteps as the man walked up to the desk.
"Rachel," he breathed in an awed, hopeful voice.
She looked up at him.
"Rachel, please tell me you remember me,"
She studied his face, trying to figure out who it possibly could be, and then it hit her hard. Her eyes went wide. "Jason?" she squeaked out, her eyes brimmed with joyful tears.
He smiled at her. He leaned forward and captured her lips. It may have taken her a moment to remember him, but he didn't care. She had haunted Jason's dreams since the day she left. He could never forget her. He needed her. This time he wasn't going to let her leave.
That's it! Thanks for reading. Review? Favorite?
