A/N: I thought of the best pun today. Had to use it. All mistakes are mine. Set during/after 2x05. Be warned – it's pretty lame.
Ab-ulous was his. As soon as the word had come out of Sam's mouth he was angry. And just a tiny bit jealous for the laugh he got.
The other day lifting weights before football practice he had lifted up his shirt and cracked a joke about his abs and everyone had laughed. Now they were laughing at Sam's joke. Which was actually his joke. Life wasn't fair.
Tina was chuckling next to him. Great. So new boy can make his girlfriend laugh about something non-Asian. The only jokes Tina laughed at were when he made something Asian. Asian kisses for example. And it wasn't a laugh that said "you're so funny Mike." It was a laugh that said "I take pity on you and am only laughing because you are my boyfriend." New boy better not steal his girlfriend too.
Not known for humour, the moment the football guys had laughed at his joke he had set out to think of all the puns he could use at opportune moments. For fifteen whole minutes (his average attention span was ten minutes) he had sat and thought hard about something else to make the football guys laugh.
He planned to whip it out at a training later in the week. Now that Sam had stolen his first joke he didn't think it would be appropriate.
His star was rising in Glee and he didn't want to be seen stealing what Sam would be known for – bad puns. Ever since his duet with Tina he knew he didn't have to stick to dancing. Now he realized that he could do anything he set his mind to in Glee. Now he realized that this could never inclued cracking really bad jokes.
Oh well, he thought to himself as a sat in a chair waiting for Mr. Schue to break out another Journey song for them to sing. At least I'll always know that my pecs are pec-tacular.
