He wasn't what I wanted, what I thought, no.
He Wasn't Avril Lavigne
She knows he doesn't love her – not really. Despite the roses and violets and candies and pretty dresses, he doesn't love her. But she denies it, because she wants her fairy-tale ending. She wants it to be perfect, so she deludes herself into thinking it is.
He's going out to the bars, drinking, going around town with other girls on his arm – but he doesn't care that he's engajed. Rose is just another girl. A very pretty girl, admittedly, but as disposable as can be. Who cares about just another girl?
She waits for every letter from the King boy. He sends her roses and violets and candies and pretty dresses, and that's what love is, isn't it? She knows its not, but continues anyway. She hears the stories, how he's been quite busy around town, but he's Royce King III. She does nothing.
He's gotten quite drunk. At first, when he sees Rosalie, he thinks he's hallucinating due to the drink. He decides he's not, and calls his fiancee over.
She sees Royce King III with his friends, drunk. She knows she should rush past, keep her eyes averted, but he loves her, doesn't he? So she walks over.
He has his fun, then leaves her in a puddle of her own blood. He knows he shouldn't have, and he feels guilty, but she's just a disposable girl. So he leaves her to die.
She knows she is dying. The blood is leaking from her, her very life pooling around her pretty dress. She's glad she's dying. At least the pain will leave. Her only regret is that Royce King III is still alive to do this to some other girl. She sighs as she fades.
A month later
He hears the first word of the mysterious dissapearance of his friend. The same friend who was there when he killed Rosalie. He laughs. Ghosts? He's being foolish. He goes off to the nearest pub to get drunk and forget. Maybe find another pretty girl. Not a blond one, though. No one that will remind him of his dead fiancee.
She wakes up, and feels powerful. She knows she's changed. And she knows now that she is back, Royce King III will never do anything like this to any other girl. She can't help but smile. Not a happy smile, but a cruel smile.
One by one, his friends that were there with Rosalie when he killed her dissappear. That's when he hires the guards. But he knows, somehow, that the guards won't stop his fiancee.
She loves hearing him scream. It reminds her a little of when she screamed. The memories fuel her revenge. He dies slowly, and painfully. To top it off, she wears the wedding dress she would have worn is she was to be married to Royce. She laughs at his fear. His pleas for mercy go unanswered.
As he dies, he know he hasn't changed. He will always be the cowardly, merciless man he is now. But as he dies, he knows Rose deserved better.
She meets him. He says his name is Emmet. She knows that finally, she can let go.
