My first attempt at an original "Thomas" story, entitled "Emily the Boss" with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
It was a sunny day on the Island of Sodor, and all the engines were waiting for Sir Topham Hatt to arrive with an important announcement.
Sir Topham Hatt soon arrived at Tidmouth Sheds.
"Edward, I need you to work the Other Railway for a while." he said.
"Yes sir." said Edward, and soon puffed away to the Other Railway.
"Meanwhile." continued Sir Topham Hatt. "I need an engine that will watch James and Percy at the docks."
Emily really wanted to help out, so she agreed to watch James and Percy.
At Brendam Docks, there was lots of work to be done. James and Percy decided to do the work equally.
But Emily wanted all the work done at once. She then puffed over to James and Percy.
"Percy and James, I want both of you to shunt freight cars!"
The two engines set off to shunt in the yards.
When all the shunting was done, the two friends returned, and saw that even more freight cars had arrived.
Emily then forced them to shunt even more freight cars.
So James and Percy did.
When they returned from shunting again, they saw even more freight cars in the yards. This made the two friends very cross.
So they went up to Emily and explained what was wrong.
"There's too many freight cars!" said Percy.
"This is not what we want to do!" said James.
"Well." said Emily. "If you don't want to shunt freight cars, then you can both go back to your sheds!"
James and Percy didn't want to go home, but they were still very cross.
Just then, an idea flew into Percy's funnel.
"How about you help us with the shunting?" asked Percy.
Emily thought for a second.
"Why, yes!" she said happily. "I'll be glad to help my two friends!"
So for the rest of the day, the three friends shunted and helped with the freight.
It was nighttime when they returned. Sir Topham Hatt was waiting for them.
"You are all really useful engines." he boomed. "Good work today."
"All thanks to Emily!" said James.
Emily was the happiest engine of all.
