Birth of a Legend
By Isaiah McAuthor
In a time not long ago
In a land not
far away
A man prepared to show
A new game for us to play
On
the island of Japan
A far and distant shore
A group heard out
this man
Explaining new mythology and lore
And from there
the legend grew
And soon it was developed
And from there the
product flew
Around the world packaged and enveloped
And so
it hit our store
Gamers made the choice to try it
And what
would follow would be more
People lining up to buy it
And
from then on we held
The legend in our hands
Our imaginations
swelled
Exploring far and distant lands
Once it was
deployed
We began to realize
The standard was destroyed
A
new one would arise
The princess had been taken
There was a
villain on the prowl
But our hero was not shaken
By the
monsters' moan or howl
We navigated every room
We found all
of the hearts
We even explored a forgotten tomb
In search of
Triforce parts
It all came down to pinnacle rock
Into the
skull shaped palace
We made our way and broke the lock
Into the
room of malice
And with the villain we did fight
With magic
sword and silver arrow
The battle continued through the night
But
the villain's chance was narrow
The villain was at last
slain
So the princess was now saved
We were so proud we felt no
pain
Though our thumbs were now quite chafed
And so the
legend's fan base grew
from the original to the latest
But the
first ones always knew
That the original was perhaps the greatest
