So… I watched about 20 minutes of different scenes of the finale. And I watched the first 2 ½ seasons of Grey's Anatomy. But other then that… I'm flying blind. So just bear with me.

It's very short. So yeah.

Positive. Pregnant. A plus sign. It all meant the same thing. It meant that Meredith Grey was going to be a mother. And Derek Shepherd was going to be a father. It meant that they were going to have a Mcbaby. It meant a new life, a family.

Until it didn't.

Now it meant broken hearts and empty promises. It meant nights with forced smiles. It meant pretending everything was okay. But it wasn't. Because the positive pregnancy test meant nothing. Nothing but a life she could have had. And a baby should could have loved.

"I'm fine." The constant declaration shattered a little bit more of her heart, each time she said it. Because she wasn't. She didn't think she ever would be again.

The only person who knew about what she was going through was Cristina. But even though Cristina had been there, had had this happen to her, she had never felt more alone.

"I'm fine." Another piece of her heart. She pounded into everybody.

"I'm fine. I'm fine." Until eventually people stopped asking. Cristina stopped asking. Derek stopped asking. And now, she was living her days working at the re opened Seattle Grace Hospital.

Which brought Meredith to this point. Staring at a mother embracing her little girl. She didn't know why this bothered her so much. Was it the fact that that mother and her baby were happy, when she wasn't? Or was it just the fact that that mother had her baby, when she didn't?

But staring at that happy scene finally broke something inside her. Meredith hadn't cried real tears since before she found out she miscarried. But now she felt the tears build up.

She glared at the happy family, at the sleeping baby, the beautiful mother and beaming father. She walked toward the family a few steps. But stopped and turned around and ran to the locker room.

She cried once the locker room doors shut. She cried and she screamed. She hit and kicked the lockers, until eventually she slid down the doors and just sat there, with tears down her cheeks.

"Your lucky you didn't dent the lockers. You could face hospital damage charges." Dr. Miranda Bailey said sarcastically from the door way.

"Sorry." Meredith said emotionlessly. She felt so drained. She didn't move from her seat. Bailey walked over to Meredith and slid down next to her.

"Were you trying to kill that family with your glare?" Bailey asked.

"Nope." she replied. They sat in silence for a few minutes before Meredith spoke. "I had a miscarriage."

Miranda closed her eyes. She sighed. "I'm sorry."

"Yeah." Meredith allowed herself to wallow in herself pity for a few more minutes.

"Are you going to be Okay?" Bailey asked.

And with that, Meredith got up and cleared all traces of tears away. She faced Bailey and put on a false bright, cheery smile.

"I'm Meredith Grey. I'm always fine."

Another piece of her broke.

Hope you liked it.
