A New Strange Start
Hermione's pov
Ron is stuffing his face full of blueberry pancakes when a large raven landed on his head. Harry is trying to stifle a laugh and I started giggling. It took Ron five minutes to figure out that something was weird and everyone in the Great Hall is laughing. "Wat?" He mumbled.
I lifted my hand and the raven flew off Ron's head and landed on my hand. I was about to tell him that the raven was on his head but Lavender came running shouting "Ronnniekins". Weirdo. I took the letter from the raven's beak.
Mione,
Hey girl it's me Mason. I'm coming to visit Hogwarts in a few days and was wondering if you and Harry would like to join Eric and me in Hogsmead. Please let me know if you want to or not. Tell your brothers I said 'Hello' and that they are welcome to come as well.

I smiled and turned towards Harry. "Hey Harry?" He looked from his food. "Yah Mione." My smile grew. "Do you want to go to Hogsmead with me and my friends?" He smiled at me. "I'd love to go." I grabbed some parchment from my bag.

Harry and I would love to go. I'll ask my brothers and get back to you. I can't wait to meet Eric.

Since Mason's raven was still on the table I called it over. It landed on my hand a second later; I tied my letters to its leg and whispered to it to take my letters to my brothers. As it flew away I noticed Lavender "snogging" (more like eating) Ron.
That picture will always be in my nightmares until I am dead. I shuddered and turned toward Harry to find him staring and smiling at me. I smiled shyly back at him and went back to my breakfast.
