An Espeon sat on a small hill overlooking Lake Verity, her split tail curled neatly around herself as she watched the water sparkle and shimmer in the afternoon sunlight. She smiled slightly as she watched two Eevee kits on the shore playing. This was one of her favorite things; sitting here and just watching over the lives of her Pack-mates.
But of course it was also her duty as daughter of the Alpha. She didn't hate her status, but sometimes it did get… bothersome. She enjoyed coming here to escape it all, and finally get some peace.
"Hey, Sari!"
…Of course, around here, she never did get much time to herself.
The Espeon was startled enough by the sudden voice to jump up and fall right into the lake.
A Vaporeon trotted up to where she'd been moments before. "Sari?" he called, looking left and right.
"Down-" she paused to take another breath as she struggled in the water; "-here!"
"Oops, sorry!" he called down with a light chuckle before diving in himself.
He got a hold on her before swimming easily back to the shore. Once they were there he dropped her, rather ungracefully, on the sand.
"What is wrong with you?" she managed to stutter out after a coughing fit. "Now my fur's wet!" she whimpered, setting to work on drying it.
"So; I'm always wet." he stated obliviously.
"I'm a Psychic-type. You're a Water-type; there is a difference between the two." she rolled her dark purple eyes. "Now; what was so important that you had to come find me, Calder?" she asked.
"Well, um…" he paused, shuffling on his paws awkwardly. "Just wanted to see what you were doin'." he said sheepishly.
"Why?" she chuckled; amused. He just shrugged, looking up. Sari raised an eyebrow before raising her paw and pushing the Vaporeon into the water.
"Hey! What was that for?" he exclaimed after he resurfaced.
"Payback." she said smugly. Calder smiled wickedly. "… Why are you looking at me like that?"
Instead of answering, the Vaporeon chuckled and leapt at the Espeon. She was too startled to get away, so the Vaporeon ended up watching with amusement in his eyes as she tried to squirm out of his hold.
"Let me go, you big oaf!" she yelped. He raised an eyebrow and leaned down, kissing her cheek. Her lavender fur turned crimson as she blushed. "W-what was that for?"
"Payback." he said smugly.
