Aneko: I think I'm insane, to post another story in the same day, but hey, it's noit every day I get motivated like this…
This is a Sakura fic, and if you get confused, remember that some of it is metaphorical.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto. If I did, it would be less of a fighting story and more of a love story…unfortunately…
Dance in the Rain
She always though, in the beginning, that besides Sasuke and Shikamaru, she was one of the best (although Shikamaru was such a lazy butt in the academy, he hardly counted). She got the best grades, was always able to perform jutsus, and always got good notes home from the teacher. When they were put in squads, this opinion was only furthered by the fact that she was with Naruto. He was such an idiot, she knew he could use a good scolding (beating) from a top student to keep him in line, the whole time doting on her other teammate.
As soon as the real missions started, though, she realized just how wrong she was .When an enemy attacked, there was no time to stop and think, you just have to do, and follow your instincts.
She had stepped unwittingly form clear skies and into rain. Yet she found that when she did, Sasuke and even Naruto were there to hold up umbrellas for her. Time and again, they protected her, allowing her to watch safely from the sidelines as they struggle forward.
Somewhere along the line, she decided that it was time for her to start doing things herself. he had to stop being weak, and she wanted- no, needed- to be able to protect her teammates, as they had done for her so much already.
She started dancing, dancing in the rain that she had first run from. At first, she couldn't do much, and a lot of the time she slipped and fell. Each time, she got up again; because failing wasn't an option anymore. It ceased to be an option when the one who she liked (no, it was loved now) left. She had been too weak to stop him, and she wouldn't let that happen again.
As time goes by, the rain only gets harder; but she's worked and she's trained, and now she can dance so well in the rain. All to bring back that one she loves.
So she dances, in this ceaseless rain.
Because the rain won't stop for anyone.
