Hello. This is a short Austin&Ally drabble (and my first upload in the Austin&Ally category) that I came up with going home last night and staring at the clouds. I hope no one is too OOC, if they are please tell me and I'll re-write. Hope you enjoy.
"Ally?" Austin called out to the lone figure hunched on the fountain bench. It was raining, a heavy sprinkle that promised to turn into a rainstorm later. Nobody was outside in the mall, except Austin and who he thought was Ally.
The figure had, as far as Austin could tell through the grey curtain of rain, wavy dark hair, boots, a dark blue shirt, and a skirt. She (he guessed it was a she by the hair and skirt) was shivering; her bare, pale skin was covered in goose bumps. The girl turned to him and he saw that it really was his Ally sitting in the rain. "Austin?" Ally called back.
Then he jogged towards her, it was raining for heaven's sake. Why was she out here? "Austin," she said as he sat down beside her. "What are you doing out here?"
Austin grinned. "I was about to ask you the same thing. I was heading towards Sonic Boom. What about you? What is Miss Ally Dawson doing in the rain?"
Ally smiled thinly, "Watching the clouds." Austin noticed that she had on her Cloud Watchers shirt on (the usual sky blue fabric was now darkened by the rain) and binoculars around her neck.
Austin looked around, "but…where are your other fellow Cloud Watchers?"
Her smile fell. "They…uhm, they quit." Ally's voice went up towards the end, as if she was forcing a positive attitude. "They said it was…boring." Ally could feel a lump in her throat forming.
"Ally…this was your club, wasn't it?" Austin asked. Ally nodded silently.
"Then why are you here? It's raining, everyone quit…why?" He could see Ally blink rapidly and swallow. "You don't have to answer," Austin added quickly.
"It's Thursday. Thursday is cloud watching day." Ally said, as if this cleared everything up. Austin raised an eyebrow.
"My mom used to bring me out, when I was little, and we would watch clouds together every Thursday. When she…when she died, I still went outside by myself every Thursday to watch the clouds. My dad tried to do it with me, but he said it was pointless. Trish accompanied me one time but she said it was stupid and baby-ish. Then, I started my own small club so I wouldn't feel as…awkward." Ally explained. Austin noticed tears running down her cheeks, and grasped one of her cold hands comfortingly.
Ally did a kind of gasp-slash-sigh and smiled. The rain was letting up slightly, but it was still steady. "I'll watch clouds with you," Austin whispered.
"What?"
"I'll watch the clouds with you." Austin repeated.
"Really? Mr. It's-a-snowman-eating-a-marshmallow wants to watch the clouds?" Ally gasped in disbelief.
Austin stuck his tongue out at her. "If this is that important to you, of course I'll be a Cloud Watcher." Austin whispered and tightened his grip on Ally's small hand.
"Thank you, Austin. You don't know how much this means to me." Ally smiled.
Austin just smiled back in reply.
So, I hope you guys enjoyed and it wasn't truly as OOC as I feel it was. I tried writing as IC as possible, but I may have failed. Thanks for reading and reviews are a writer's best friend. : )
