Staring at the proof of the gifts that he had received, he realized may not have had the family that he wanted growing up, but he had found the family that he needed when he found the two of them.

The Family That He Needed

Hermione and Severus came across Harry kneeling by the trunk at the end of their bed surrounded by folded baby blankets and tracing the images of the stag, the wolf and the grim that was embroidered along the edge. Severus had commissioned the blankets for Harry's three children, wanting them to have that connection.

Harry looked up at his wife and his husband and smiled. This was the family that was made for him, from the runes wrapped around their wrists to the memories of the babies that had been bundled in the blankets. He had everything that he had ever wanted.
