So, this is my first published fic, yay!
I've had this lying around in my drive since January and it's only now that I decided to do something with it. It was after I finished watching Pewdie play the game that I was hit with an inspiration to do this, and truth be told this fic was originally going to be multi-chapter, but I thought against it. However, if enough of you readers want more, then I'll gladly see what I can do.
Enough of me blabbering! Read on, and enjoy!
Pheobie Walters stared at the loading screen anxiously, gripping the game controler tightly in her palms as her new game started up. She had read reviews of it, seen gameplay videos, and heard her own friends' personal opinions. Curiosity and her love of gaming brought her to this.
"Journey," the game case read. It was the new indie game that came from Thatgamecompany and Sony, and it was the last of the three-game contract between them. According to some of her online buddies and from her own personal research, the game play and art were fairly simple, and the storyline could be interpreted by the players so the experience varied between people.
She would play as a robed person trying to get to a mountain. Along the way, she would get bits and pieces of the story from cutscenes and murals found in the game levels. Also, from what Felix* had told her, if the PS3 was signed to the internet, she could meet other players of the game one at a time.
Pheobie did just that, wanting some sort of help or guidance though the game. There was only one downside to this.
The girl wouldn't know who she was playing with, nor could they talk to each other aside from the chirps the characters made. It would have been nice to know who I was playing with to properly thank them at the end, she thought sadly.
With a sigh, she looked to the T.V. screen to find the game had finished loading. A quiet squeal of glee echoed in her room as she began to fiddle with the controls. First things first, she needed to lower the sound so her dorm mate would not awaken. It had been pretty late in the night when she finally had the time to play, and with her patience already worn too thin to wait another day, she decided play now.
Finally satisfied with the volume, loud enough to hear the music but low enough not to wake her room mate, the girl went back to the title screen. With a smile, she started the game excited to see what the "New Journey" would bring.
*No, not Pewds for any fans out there.
Hopefully it wasn't boring. Please review, I'd like to hear what you guys think.
