SoftWare: This story is a retelling of another FanFiction which has not been completed, and I don't think it
ever will, since the last time it was updated was 2006. And it was first published in 2003.
Link: No wonder it seems familiar.
SoftWare: I've changed some of the story elements to make it different.
The Legend of Zelda
The Golden Land
Chapter One
The Houseguest
(Outset Island, six years after the return of Ganon)
Aryll pulled up the last bucket of water. The last few days had been cooler than usual, but they were preparing in case of
another heat wave. As she poured the bucket into a jar, Aryll couldn't help but think about her brother, who had
defeated the Dark Lord Ganondorf, and had saved the Great Sea. He had since gone on a voyage with Miss Tetra to
build a New Hyrule. Neither of them had been seen or heard from since. She worried about him. Yes, he was the
legendary Hero of Winds, and yes, he was a very skilled swordsman, thanks to Orca, but after not hearing from him for
so long, Aryll was beginning to fear the worst. Taking her share of water, Aryll walked home, and set them in their place
by the table. She then went outside for a breath of air, and saw a young girl laying on the beach. Aryll ran to the girl,
and flipped her over to see who she was. The only unique feature she had was green hair, and that wasn't much to go
on. Aryll gently lifted up the girl, and brought her into her house. Her grandmother had died four years ago, and, while
Aryll mourned her, she decided to keep her grandmother's memory alive, and lived in the house. She laid the girl in her
brother's bed, and applied a damp cloth to her forehead. She then left to make some soup, for when the girl woke up.
She didn't have to wait long. The girl softly moaned, then opened her eyes, which were blue. She looked around, and
saw Aryll. The sight of a person she didn't know frightened her, of course, but Aryll was not going to let her be afraid.
She brought over a bowl of soup, and asked, "Are you hungry?" The girl was still suspicious, but sniffed the soup. After
deciding it smelled good, she tasted it, and in seconds had gobbled down the entire bowl. Aryll was glad the girl hadn't
woken up when it had gotten done, because she would've burned her tongue on it. She sat down next to the girl, and
said, "My name is Aryll. What's yours?" The girl sniffled. "Saria." Aryll vaguely remembered that name from somewhere,
but chose not to dwell on it. "Where is your family?" Saria sighed. "I don't have a family." That got Aryll's attention.

SoftWare: Here we go.
Saria: Can I do the-?
SoftWare: Why didn't you try to ask at the beginning?
Saria: Oh, right.
