Title: Ten Little Facts About Andromeda Tonks
Rating: T
Authors Note: So, hope she's not too OOC and I had a tad of trouble with the tenses but I think it overall worked out. With #5, she still collects to this day so that's why it's in present tense and not past. Thanks for reading and please review!
1. She was sent a Christmas card to tell her that she was disowned. It was blunt and read:
Dearest Andromeda,
You are hereby disowned.
Sincerely,
Druella Black
2. At age nineteen, Andromeda was living in a dingy, old apartment with Ted and they could barely afford the rent.
She wanted to confund the landlord with a quick flick of her wand, but Ted refused to let her do so. He told her that she knew the consequences of what would happen if she chose him over family. Yes, she knew the consequences but she didn't think she'd get used to not using magic to get her way.
3. Her favourite relative after Sirius was always Narcissa.
Narcissa was never a bitch like Bellatrix - no, she was forced to harden up because of the taunts of the cousins in her family. She didn't fit in with her looks because she was graceful like a swan with her blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. Not once did Narcissa ever say anything bad about her.
4. One day she ran into her mother and father down in Diagon Alley.
When she greeted her mother, she received a sneer in return and the words, "You are no daughter of mine," and this hurt her more than she would ever care to admit.
5. Andromeda has a bizarre obsession with tea cups and collects them as a hobby.
She has ones with frogs on them, delicate china ones with floral designs, she even has one given by the Prime Minister himself. She doesn't drink out of these cups but keeps them safe in a glass cabinet.
6. Ted stole her first kiss.
She had been merely laying on her back underneath the stars, her hands laid flat on her stomach and her eyes were closed when she felt another persons mouth upon hers. She was shocked beyond belief.
7. She hated the house she was sorted into.
Pureblood elites and snobby gits made her turn her back against the beliefs she had carved into her mind. She hated Slytherin and the way they made her look down at people because of their blood, but she did it until she met Ted Tonks… and then she changed.
8. When Andromeda had her first and only child, she had no idea what to name her.
She definitely didn't want to follow the family tradition of naming children after stars. And so, she somehow made her way to the insanity ward and walked inside, where she saw a familiar face from her days at Hogwarts. The girl kept muttering the word 'Nymphadora' over and over. She knew the girl - though not well - and they had always been civil towards one another. Never knowing completely why, she decided to name Nymphadora for this girl whom she never saw again.
9. Andromeda never fought in either battle.
Andromeda couldn't just ruthlessly kill someone she had known her whole life - whether it be Bellatrix or Severus. She has a conscious and knew all too well that the thought of actually murdering someone would haunt her into insanity.
10. She was holding a tea cup both times she was told she had lost a family member.
When she received Ted's letter in the mail - It's too late for me, Andy. Don't ever forget how much I love you and Dora. Stay strong, my angel - she dropped her blue teacup and sank to the floor in tears, leaving Nymphadora to gather her up into her arms and hold her together.
Then second time was when Andromeda was sipping out of a bright yellow tea cup on the night of the battle when a owl tapped on her window with a letter from Hestia Jones, informing her of Dora's death. A feeling lurched inside of her before she had even read it and her teacup had fallen from her fingers again. It shattered into a million pieces, just like her heart.
