It was a known fact that Sasuke Uchiha does not like anything sweet. His fan girls, ever since he can remember, were always giving him chocolate or anything sugary but he ignores it or shoves it to someone else instead but he does make an exception to one day and one person only—not that he will be broadcasting that bit of information.
Ino Yamanaka, a former fan girl, never fails to give him something on his birthday even when he had left the village. She was the most persistent out of the entire mob right behind his former teammate Sakura Haruno. What make her stand out from the horde of fans was that she somehow incorporates tomatoes in it too. The one thing he loves most. How she could blend together tomatoes and chocolate was beyond him but he would not be questioning it as long as it is palatable.
This year nothing was sent to him. Nothing. Nada. He decided to investigate this weird phenomenon after impatiently waiting for almost a day. He left his current team and head towards Leaf. He did not even stop to think why he was feeling this way. What was important to him right now was the near constant yearly offering.
He was near the leaf village when someone stopped him in his tracks. There standing next to a very leafy tree was Ino Yamanaka herself grinning cheekily at him like was actually expecting him to show up. She was leaning at the thick bark with her arms tethered at her chest. He can not help but feel annoyed.
"Missing something?" She haughtily asked.
"Hn."
One thing about Ino was that she was pretty stubborn and was known not to give up easily. She badgered him if she misses his yearly present until he gave up and tol her that yes, he missed her gifts but that was when she dangled the much anticipated goods right in front of him with a foolish smile of her pretty face. Damn woman!
He eagerly snatched the package and kissed her on the cheek surprising both of them but he was gone before she can react and he can comprehend his actions. Why the hell did he do that?!
"'Till next year Ino," he tenderly whispered in the air as he sprinted back to the hideout.
Months passed and seasons changed and Ino woke up on her birthday with a pudding designed with the Uchiha symbol beside her. She smiled and went on her day.
"'till next year Sasuke."
They might have different views in life or different loyalties but that doesn't mean that they won't make an exception on a special day.
