A/N: Okay, I have to admit that I wasn't a big fan of Matt Smith and I hold my hands up and say that I judged him before actually watching the episodes. But one day I saw the first Matt Smith episode on BBC iPlayer and decided to watch it, and I'm so glad I did, because I've totally changed my mind about him. David Tennant will always be my favourite Doctor, but I am slowly falling in love with Matt, and also the Doctor and Amy's relationship.
So this is where this one-shot idea sprung from. Please bear in mind that I have only seen up to The Hungry Earth so if there are mistakes regarding the future in this, please ignore them.
It's also very short, but I do hope to write more Amy/11 stories in the future.
Disclaimer: I never owned Doctor Who or David Tennant, so I guess that means I don't own Matt Smith or Karen Gillan.
The Doctor gripped Amy's hand with a fierce determination as her green eyes glazed over with tears.
"Doctor, what's down there?" She asked, her voice trembling.
"Amy just concentrate, don't let go!"
"I-I don't want to suffocate," Amy whispered. The Doctor leant forward and touched her cheek with his free hand.
"Don't struggle," He said quietly. "They're going to turn off the drill, and I'm going to save you and everyone else from whatever is under this earth!" She was in the Earth up to her armpits now, but her hold on his hand was firm.
"I know you will, I believe in you," A tear rolled down her cheek and he brushed it away. "But I don't think you'll be able to save me," The Doctor clenched his jaw.
"You're wrong, I will." Amy said nothing, she just smiled sadly.
"I just want you to know, that travelling with you, it's been brilliant and I wouldn't change anything for the world," She laughed. "Actually, I'd make sure it didn't take you a decade to find me again," The Doctor chuckled before leaning over and pressing his lips to her forehead.
"You'll be okay,"
"Yes," She didn't sound convinced. "But, if I don't…" She used the hand that wasn't intertwined in the Doctor's to reach up and take hold of the nape of his neck. Amy then slowly but surely pulled his face to hers and kissed him with more passion than she had before in her bedroom. The Doctor's eyes closed automatically as he leaned further forward and deepened the kiss. Amy shivered as the Doctor took control of the kiss as she sunk further into the ground. Despite the turmoil of mind blowing emotions conveyed in that kiss, the Doctor grip on her hand was steel, refusing to believe that she was really leaving him.
"You can't go, Amelia Pond. You can't leave me," He murmured, resting his forehead against hers.
"You need to go and save this town," Only her neck, head and hands were visible now.
"I promised myself I'd keep you safe,"
"This wasn't your fault. It was no one's fault." She was going under faster now and that bloody drill was still going.
"Amy!"
Just before she sunk down Amelia Jessica Pond spoke three words that would change the Doctor's life forever, and break both his hearts.
"I love you," Her fingers slipped from his.
She was gone and for a few seconds the Doctor didn't believe it. He expected her to jump out of the ground and point and laugh at him for actually believing her. But she didn't and the Doctor was unable to even consider the possibility that she'd left him alone. He pulled his sonic screwdriver from his pocket and scanned the earth but found nothing. Then he began to dig at the earth with his hands, yelling out in frustration.
"AMY! NO!" He sat back on his heels and put his head in his hands. This was it. He'd failed.
A/N: Seeing as it's my first time writing 11/Amy, d'you reckon you could review?
Even if you don't, I love you guys.
