HALO: BETA SQUAD
PROLOGUE
The crew of BETA were generally experienced in dealing with the flood. Their goal was simple: Go in, get the job done efficiently as possible, and get the hell out with minimal casualties. This is what BETA was known for. They did their job well for the most part. In the fifteen years that BETA has been present, the team has suffered only ninety-three losses. This number was not surprisingly low, however. BETA had the toughest training out of any other SPARTAN task force. With good reason as well. Dropping in to infested flood territory is not an easy task.
The humans are currently undergoing a galactic Civil War. Human populations are vastly increasing as time wears on, therefore, expansion if needed. However, the government believes humans should stay and use up the resources they have gained instead of immediately expanding. Rebels who went against the government built starships and flew despite what the government had told them. Therefore, its extremely common to see UNSC Pelicans patrolling outside the atmosphere for rebel ships. All this while dealing with the growing flood crisis.
