He's Mine
Zero and Ichiru, twins, both seven years of age, were currently playing at the large Kuran household together with their childhood friend Kaname Kuran, who was idly sitting on his throne like couch with a chessboard in front of him.
"Waaaahhh…" Ichiru Kiryuu, the younger twin came running towards Kaname, tears streaming down his rosy chubby cheeks. He buried his face on the older boy's chest, soaking Kaname's shirt in the process.
"What's wrong Ichi?" the pureblood prince asked.
The silver boy looked up, his amethyst eyes drowning with tears, nose and cheeks tinted pink obviously from crying. "Zero is so mean, he took up all the toys. He only played with himself and never shared it with me." Ichiru cried, still clutching at Kaname's shirt.
The brunet looked at the other boy who was enjoying himself with a toy car, a train set, a little helicopter and even a Barbie doll? He turned his attention back at the boy in his arms. "Would you like to play with me?"
"Really?" The boy stopped sobbing, his glistening eyes sparkled with happiness.
"Sure. I'll teach you how to play chess." Kaname said as he reached to his pants pocket to retrieve a neatly folded handkerchief only to wipe it on the child's snot.
Ichiru nodded and then proceeded to take the vacant seat opposite of the older boy. Just the thought of having a quality time with his secret crush made him all giddy inside.

Somewhere at the corner of the room, a silver-haired boy was watching them, his identical amethyst eyes hardly glued at the tall brunet. He looked at them, totally engrossed with the game they're playing at. They totally ignore him. And he didn't like it any bit especially when Kaname is not paying any attention to him.
"Vroooommm!", Zero dragged the toy car giving a loud screeching noise, he intentionally make his voice louder to catch a certain brunet's attention. And yes, it did. But Kaname only give him a quick glance and return again at the game. This made the silver boy frustrated. He took his helicopter, raise it on the air then run around the room only to make the toy land on the chess board.
"What the heck, Zero! Now you ruined the game!" Ichiru yelled pointing at the chess pieces scattered around the board.
"Ichiru it's okay, we can start a new one," Kaname turned at the other boy, "Zero, be careful next time." He patted the silver head and earned a gentle blush.
Zero reluctantly walked back to the other side of the room, this time silently playing with his doll. It is a gift from Yuuki. Every now and then, he will take a glance at the two. He's not going to admit it but he was feeling a little bit jealous. Ichiru got to spend his time playing with Kaname. Maybe it's better if he just give Ichiru some of his toys.
Several minutes later, the chess tutorial ended. Ichiru get up and went to sit beside Kaname. "Kaname," he started, looking down at his fingers, a dark blush crept to his face. "Will you be mine? Will you be my playmate? Zero is no fun at all, he's not sharing his toys." He smiled sheepishly at Kaname. "But I love it when I'm with you."
Zero stiffened at Ichiru's question. "Kaname. . . will you be mine?" was the only thought running on his mind. He gathered all the toys lying on the floor and immediately walked to Ichiru. He dropped the toys on Ichiru's arms taking a spot beside Kaname, unshed tears making his eyes glitter and said, "There, take all of them. Take anything from me, take everything you want. Just don't take him." Zero take a grip on Kaname's shirt sleeve grasping it firmly, looking at the floor. "He's mine."
Zero blushed profusely.
Ichiru gaped widely.
Kaname smiled knowingly. He knew it from the start, Zero has a crush on him.
