My phone rings, breaking the silence in my Rio De Janeiro alleyway. I answer without even looking at the Caller I.D.

"Edward." Rosalie's voice is irritating. Every voice is irritating. My memory of her is still strong. I wasn't as easily distracted as I thought. I'm easily ripped out of reality to daydream of her… but it's not the same. Not at all.

"Edward?" Rosalie asks.

"What, Rosalie?" I ask through gritted teeth. I hate it when any of them call, but Rosalie is the only one that I am openly hostile towards. They are stubborn, vehemently refusing to leave me to grieve in a somewhat solitary way. My family tries to act understanding, but they have no idea what my thoughts are.

"It happened." she sounds breathless.

"What do you mean? I don't understand." I say, irritated, "What happened?"

"Bella killed herself." Rosalie says. I'm confused. The words reflect off me, meaningless. I don't understand.

"What?" I mumble. My body puts the pieces together faster than my mind, it seems, seeing as my knees don't seem to want to hold my body up any longer. I slide to the ground against the slimy wall behind me.

"Bella jumped off a cliff and drowned. Alice saw it. I'm really sorry, Edward. She didn't plan it, otherwise we would have stopped her somehow. I'm sorry." she says again.

I understand now.

"Oh. All right. Thank you for letting me know." I say. My voice is cold and emotionless.

"Edward, I-"

"Bye, Rose." I hang up.

I'm impatient, waiting for someone to pick up.

"Swan residence." I hear an unfamiliar voice of a young man. What?

"Hello, this is uh, Dr. Carlisle Cullen. I was wondering if I could speak to Charlie, please." I say, mimicking my father's voice almost perfectly. Only a vampire that knew Carlisle would know any different.

"He's not here." The man's voice is cold and cruel.

"Oh. Where is he?" I ask, my unbeating heart dropping to my feet.

"He's at the funeral." The voice informs me, reluctant.

I hang up and drop the phone in the first garbage can I see. If she's gone, I'll do my best to follow her.

"Edward Cullen. What a pleasant surprise! Is Carlisle here?" Aro's voice is as maniacally upbeat as ever. I ignore the attempt for mindless banter.

"No." I say, "I am alone. I would like to request something." I am calm, serene. I know this is the right thing to do.

"Ask, and you shall recieve." Aro is still smiling that smile. He's insulted I ignored his small talk attempts. Good.

"Kill me." I say. He frowns, his powdery brow creasing. I wonder why he wants to die... I hear his thoughts.

"What could possibly motivate you to these lengths? Do you honestly wish to die, child?"

"Yes." I say.

"Come here, child." He holds out his hand. I touch his palm reluctantly, and he understands. I hear his opinions on different things as I see my memories in his mind.

"No." he says, turning without even giving it a second thought. Inspiration hits him as he realises my gifts.

"Maybe you would like to join us!" he grins, "It would be sad to see something so precious as your gifts to be wasted, and Chealsea can help you with your crush on that silly human girl. Bella, am I right?" My temper flares when he insults her.

I stalk out, intent on dying, even if it means destroying the city.
