Green Advance 3 or Total Re-Genesis!
Prologue
It had been over three months now since the events of the Second Genesis Wave. And during that time Dr. Oliver Eggman was very busy on his latest master plan. He was in one of his many secret labs hidden across Mobius and this one was hidden in plain sight. "Ohohohohoho! I'm very proud of myself. I single handedly figured out a master plan that'll make the world mine. And it's all thanks to you my pretty little Chaos Emerald." Dr. Eggman grinned as he held the Green Chaos Emerald in his left hand. "The ironic part of all of this, is the fact the idea came to me when I read over the calculations my brother made. He made those calculations all while being pampered in a cell in what was once New Mobotropolis. Oh but the times have changed so much since that time, and from my secret base I shall begin Operation Re-Genesis!" He looked very triumphant and pleased with himself, but then he turned around and yelled. "And if would be perfect! If my stupid robots and Chao showed up!" The doctor was angry, for over a week now he had been looking for his loyal robot lackeys Decoe & Bocoe, and his pet Dark Chao named Bokkun. He even looked for the Eggman Chao he created a year ago, but alas his efforts to locate them were a fruitless labor. "Honestly, without those three I'm just talking to myself. Granted Orbot and Cubot have been helpful, but I sent them to oversee operations with the Egg Fleet. Not that I'll need the Egg Fleet once I've completed my little project." While the doctor mused around with the idea of having victory in just one push of a button. A white robot resembling Orbot was spying on Dr. Eggman, the robot was named Ergo and he sent information to his master.
The master of Ergo was a renegade Badnik created by Dr. Eggman. Not much was known on Cinos, but the Badnik calling himself Cinos helped and hindered Dr. Eggman and his enemies from behind the scenes ever since aftermath of the events of the Chaos Crisis. "You've done a great job, with Green busy taking care of finding his precious friend. And when he gets done settling Operation Re-Genesis, I'll be able to get the final phases of my plan in order. Then we'll see if those heroes who know Sonic, can provide me with the information I need for the Metal Empire." Cinos then began to make an encrypted call to one of the people he knew all too well.
Meanwhile on Westside Island
Green the Hedgehog was at his shack he lived at the Aquatic Ruins Zone. He was listening to music he found across the multiverse, most of it was 8-Bit and Techno related. It made him think of some of the good times he had with Vector the Crocodile and the rest of Team Chaotix, and thinking about the Chaotix made him think about Heavy & Bomb. They were the very first Badniks to ever turn good among the billions of Badniks created over the past sixteen to seventeen years. "I miss so much of the past."
Nicolas the Holo-Lynx came into the shack to check on Green. His holographic body had some dirt on it, but he altered his matrix to allow the dirt to fall off outside. "How's it going Green?" He asked his friend.
Green looked a bit sad, his facial expressions made it clear he wasn't feeling that well emotionally. "I'm having it hard… Just thinking…" Green said as he played a somewhat sad song next on his playlist.
"What's wrong?" Nicolas asked his friend as he had in a chair, Green was laying on his bed.
"It's just that… Well… I was able to fix so much the last time I was Nazo. But Emerl was the only one who mattered to me who didn't come back." Green had a tear in his eyes. "I have a feeling Shadow is alright… But… Emerl couldn't come back because I was told not to bring him back if I was to fix the universe when I was Nazo." Green cried a little, he knew it was very debatable on getting attached to machines. But the Gizoids of high ranks such as Emerl the Gizoid General had souls in them which were often called Ghosts in the Machines.
Nicolas was a prime example of this, but he knew that he was much more than a Ghost in the Machine. A secret he kept guarded, and only one Mobian on Mobius knew of this secret. "I know and understand how you feel… I really wish you could've brought Nikki back… But…"
All of a sudden, there was a bright light flashing green, it was attached to Green's laptop and indicated he was receiving an incoming transmission. "Greetings Green the Hedgehog, I trust you've been doing well since our last meeting." The silhouette of a being was seen on Green's laptop monitor, the video call was encrypted and only showing the silhouette of the stranger. "I am Cinos, you remember me from before the Genesis Wave, do you not?"
Green blinked a couple times, there were still tears in his eyes. He rubbed the tears out of his eyes, and then focused on the silhouette. "Cinos! I remember you all too well. What do you want?!" Green remembered Cinos all too well. He remembered that the enigmatic person at random helped and hindered him and his friends. He also knew that Cinos was an enemy of Dr. Eggman and was using the doctor.
"Just giving you a tip. My sources have discovered the location of Dr. Eggman." The silhouette resembled Sonic, but not quite. The movement of Cinos' head showed quills that reminded Green of Super Sonic. "But more importantly, I know the location of your precious friend Emerl the Gizoid."
Upon hearing this, Green paused. "Emerl;" was all he could say.
Of course the timing of this information being delivered was too much of a coincidence. "I have the coordinates to prove Emerl the Gizoid is alive. He was rebuilt by Dr. Eggman as part of his latest scheme called Operation Re-Genesis. I'm sure you can guess what that name implies?"
Nicolas and Green looked at each other, Nicolas then looked at the coordinates on Green's laptop. "Thanks Cinos, for once I want to say thank you." Green said.
"Don't thank me until you've found your friend hedgehog." And with that the transmission ended, and while Green got ready. Sonic and Tails recovered coordinates leading to Dr. Eggman's secret base where Operation Re-Genesis would begin. They took off running across one of the many Zones of Westside Island, and while they got the coordinates, Amy, Cream & Cheese and Knuckles also got information sent to them one way or another, all of it came from Cinos.
While Green was running Nicolas flew behind him. "Green! You know that Cinos could be leading us into a trap right?!"
"Trap or not, I'm getting Emerl back! And we can't risk another Genesis Wave!" Green shouted as he ran faster than ever before in his life.
Meanwhile in Dr. Eggman's hidden base, he placed the Green Chaos Emerald into his Genesis Wave generator with his right hand. "Ohohohoho! I've waited a long time for this." He said as he closed the containment glass that the Green Chaos Emerald was placed into.
While that went on, Walter Naugus was using his magic to fly. "Yes! Soon I'll get back all of my magic. With the Chaos Emerald, I've got my wind magic back. And I feel like checking on my old kingdom." He said as he was heading for Mobotropolis.
Dr. Eggman hesitated to press his Cosmic Reset Button, "I do wish Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun were here. I was hoping Orbot or Cubot could've been here too. Oh well." He then grinned. "I guess they all miss out."
While Dr. Eggman was moments away from pressing his button. Cinos and Ergo were at Rail Canyon. "Soon, my plan will begin. Operation Re-Genesis will happen as planned. And you three can't do anything to stop my plans." He said to a locked door he passed by.
Green, Nicolas, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Cream & Cheese were all heading towards Dr. Eggman's hidden base. But when they headed for it, the doctor grinned. "Hello Genesis!" The doctor said as he pressed his button, the Green Chaos Emerald glowed brightly, and then a bright flash of light started to cover the entire world. The heroes saw the light, and they all had various thoughts.
"Not again!" Sonic shouted out seconds before he and Tails were hit by the light…
Chapter 1
Route to Chaos
Green the Hedgehog and Nicolas the Holo-Lynx, opened their eyes after running into the blinding light of the Genesis Wave! They didn't know what to expect from the Genesis Wave, but they were surprised that they could remember everything that happened before the wave. (Strange… I remember everything properly… I remember that we were chasing after Dr. Eggman because Cinos said he has Emerl the Gizoid.) Green thought to himself as he looked around the city he and Nicolas arrived at. The effects of the brand new Genesis Wave, transported them into some kind of giant city they had never seen before. Green looked around the city and saw a sign that read "Route 99" which led him to believe that was what the place was called. He looked at the various roads and pipes on Route 99 and thinking hardly, he knew that things were going to get crazy now that the world was altered by another Genesis Wave. "I don't remember anyplace called Route 99." He looked to Nicolas and the A.I instantly got to work looking up information.
Nicolas finally found something, after several minutes of scanning and looking for information. "Route 99 was part of Central City and went across the country of the United States. But it wasn't anything like this place." Nicolas used his eyes to scan the entire location, at least everything that he possibly could. "Seems like this entire place is a giant city with all these pipes and roads blocking anyone from exiting." Nicolas explained as he showed a holographic display of the area. "I'm guessing that this city Zone was made by Dr. Eggman, so he could keep all the people in one place. Because I've scanned over eight billion sentient lifeforms in the city." Nicolas said as he showed several dots on his map. "Many of our friends who lived in cities seem to be here."
Green thought over what Nicolas told him, he then looked out towards the roads. "Try and find Sonic & Tails. They were right behind us when we were heading into the Genesis Wave right?" Green said as he remembered Nicolas mentioning that he detected the heroic duo only minutes before the Genesis Wave was activated.
Nicolas nodded, "I can try and get in contact with them and everyone else while we go after Dr. Eggman." Nicolas said as he began sending a transmission to his friends. He noticed that there was only one thing on Green's mind right now, and Green was impatiently tapping his foot while waiting for Nicolas. Green wasn't normally impatient but he wanted to get back his friend Emerl the Gizoid, and the only way to do that was to fight Dr. Eggman. "Alright, I've sent coordinates to Sonic & Tails, it seems like most of our friends are in other Zones made by the Genesis Wave."
Green took off after Nicolas finished speaking. Green ran faster than ever before in his life, he dashed and kicked new Badniks into pieces, the first of these Badniks was an Akatento, which resembled a Moto Bug unit. (Typical, Eggman wanting to reference the first island he set out for. At least he wised up and started using Rings to power his Badniks.) Green thought to himself as he used a Sonic Spin and destroyed a Spinner Badnik. (And of course he has some E-Series Robot involved in this. Shame on him that I can use the Rings after I smash up his Badniks. Reminds me of when Sticks smashed up Lyric's tri-claws, those things just had Rings pop out of them.) Green dodge an aerial Badnik called Condor while he was thinking, he didn't really care much for the Badniks. Though he was surprised when he saw what looked like a giant star inside of a Ring. Nicolas caught up to him, and without thinking twice Green just grabbed the Ring, they were then teleported to another Act of Route 99. Green took off again and Nicolas followed, they did this three times and on the third time they got transported to some kind of floating platform. "Where are we?" Green said as he looked at a bunch of robots that looked like Omochao. In fact they were Omochao, and Green got an idea. "Nicolas, look at all these Omochao units!"
"Yeah, makes me think of the old days." Nicolas said as he was scanning the area, he flew over the edge of an area briefly, however some kind of invisible force kept him from going beyond a foot and when he tried flying downward he was just teleported back on to the giant platform everyone was on. "Interesting… Seems like Dr. Eggman used the Genesis Wave to make some kind of Hub Zones in order to keep control over the Zones he's made. The world looks like it has been broken into seven pieces. Although… My scans suggest that the pieces are actually Zones. And that we're all inside some kind of giant pocket Zone he made."
Green scratched his chin while thinking. "Figures knowing Eggman. He likely made the world into all these Zones so he could keep a firm grip on everything. And it looks like some kind of Warp Rings are being used." Green said as he looked up and saw what looked like a Warp Ring, however it had a crown on top of it, and it had the number three.
Nicolas scanned the Warp Rings, "Seems like these are some kind of Act Ring. I think the doctor is using them to make travel between the Acts of Zones difficult." Nicolas scanned around, he was detecting something with a large amount of energy.
Green then noticed a cry he knew all too well, it was a Chao. Green went to the Chao and spoke to it, "it's alright little one. I'm here right now." Green said as he comforted the Chao, the Chao then told him that something happened to the world and Chaos ordered the Chao to activate a contingency plan. The plan was to assign seventy of the most powerful and trusted of the regular Chao in the world and to have them act as safeguards of the Special Keys. The Special Keys were created as the original means to enter the Special Zone aka Special Stage, in the distant past people could only find the keys if ten Chao were with them across the globe. But the keys were removed long ago so it would've been easier for Nazo and his allies to enter the Special Zone. Dr. Eggman used the Genesis Wave to force the Special Keys to be the only means to get the Chaos Emeralds he hid in the Special Stages across the Zones he made. The seventy Chao that were meant to safeguard the keys were scattered by the Genesis Wave, they were supposed to meet up with Green so he could get the Special Keys and just head into the Special Zone and get the Chaos Emeralds easily. Now thanks to the doctor, it would be very difficult to get the Chaos Emeralds. "I understand little Chao. We'll find the others… Odds are the doctor hid ten Chao in each of the Zones… Of course finding ten Chao in three Acts of a Zone will be difficult. Not to mention the fact some will likely be hidden on these giant Zone Transfer Platforms."
Nicolas overheard everything, the Omochao robots were flying around him. "Good thing I was able to get the Omochao fixed up." He gestured to the robots, "they will by my orders go across the Zones and Acts. They'll confirm the location of the Chao, and allow us to remain in contact with everyone." Nicolas then thought about something, he remembered getting information from the small robots that was vital. "When I spoke with the Omochao, they talked about special Warp Rings called Factory Rings. After we defeat Dr. Eggman we'll get access to the Zone Transfer Factory Hub."
The green hedgehog grinned when he heard this, he then saw Sonic & Tails flying out of the Act Ring of Act 3 of Route 99. "That was quite a rush." Sonic said as he stood up after landing. He had his sarcastic grin on his face as he turned and looked at Green. "Looks like you outran me. That's a first."
"Nice to see you again cousin." Green said as he and Nicolas quickly brought Sonic & Tails up to speed on everything they discovered.
Tails was very excited to see all of the Omochao robots. "Sounds like we've got a lot of work ahead of us." He said as he began instructing an Omochao to locate his family.
"Which reminds me." Green said as he looked at a floating machine in the sky. The machine was hardly big enough to encircle a human, it glowed red on the top and had the logo of the Eggman Empire on it. Green stepped under it, and then small spikes came out of the underside of the machine, it then activated a teleportation beam as it sucked Green into it. Green was surprised to be back in Route 99, he walked forward and gathered up a few Rings.
Green then heard an all too familiar laugh. "Ohohohohoho! Welcome Green the Hedgehog. To my special Boss Zone of my lovely Route 99 Zone." Green looked around for the doctor. "And just for you, I've got a very special treat. Allow me to introduce you to an old friend of yours rebuilt into my finest soldier to date." Suddenly a black and gold robot resembling a Gizoid flew down in front of Green.
Green blinked a few times, he felt like this robot was Emerl the Gizoid. "Emerl?" He said as the robot silently glared at him.
The doctor was still nowhere to be seen as he continued laughing. "Ahahahahaha! Allow me to introduce Gemerl! I built him using the broken pieces of Emerl along with his combat data. He's a strong and powerful robot, and he'll gladly subdue you for me." The doctor said as the robot glowed and charged at Green, Green jumped out of the way. He didn't want to fight Gemerl because it reminded him to much of Emerl the Gizoid. "That's right Green, run, run as fast as you can. Best you don't risk breaking your little friend in this intense reunion." The doctor taunted as Green dodged Gemerl's attacks.
Then all of a sudden, three Spin Jump attacks came crashing into Gemerl and sent the robot flying. "I can't leave you alone for one minute, without you making trouble. Can I doc?" Sonic said as he scratched his nose and had a sly grin.
Gemerl fought the trio, but they hit it so hard that he had smoke coming out and he sparked. Green was concerned, but then the robot got up and was sparking. "Emerl… I can help you." Green said to the robot as he tried walking up to it, but the robot turned and began floating away. "Emerl come back! Please don't leave me!"
Shortly, the group followed Gemerl and it plugged itself into a giant machine. "Gemerl is my robot Green. And now he'll help power my amazing Egg Hammer 3. Something I was inspired to make from my old Egg Hammer Tanks." The doctor said while his Egg Mobile flew into the giant hammer like machine, a glass shield went over the cockpit once the Egg Mobile was in place. "I bet you remember those days when you ruined my plans to save the Overlanders, from the clutches of that Neo Dr. Eggman?"
Green curled his fingers into fists as he looked at the doc. "I always remember doc." Green said, he and his friends got ready for a fight.
"Take this!" The doc yelled as he made the giant hammer come crushing towards the heroes. Sonic noticed that he had an opening, he then jumped up and used a Sonic Spin. "Ow! Curse you Sonic!"
"Hey guys, I think I know what his weakness is." Sonic said as he watched the doctor preparing for another attack, Sonic quickly whispered a plan to the group. They then got ready to distract the doc, "hey Eggman! You look a little bloated today. No wait… That's just how you always look." Sonic teased the doctor.
"Grrrr! Get back here rodent!" The doctor yelled as he tried hitting Sonic.
But then Green and the others used Spin Jump attacks against the doctor. "Good thing you're predictable." Sonic said as he delivered the final attack.
Suddenly after the Egg Hammer 3 took one final blow, the machine exploded. Dr. Eggman and Gemerl ejected from the machine, however Dr. Eggman got covered in smoke and charcoal from the explosion of his machine. Which was something that happened a lot with his past Egg Mobile creations, he always hated it when that happened after a defeat. He spat out smoke, he then pressed a button that gave Gemerl orders to return to base. He then flew his Egg Mobile while escaping, he then looked back and waved his right fist in anger and shouted out. "You're going to pay for this!"
The heroes then gave chase to the doctor, they followed him into a Warp Zone. "Whoa! Looks like the Warp Zones of South Island from the Land of the Sky Zone, are somehow being used." Tails said as he flew alongside Nicolas.
Green spoke as the group traveled along what seemed like a path of rainbows in the skies and a checker board like ground. Everything around them was multi-colored, it looked and felt like they followed the doctor into some kind of Zone. "It feels like a Warp Zone… But it feels almost like the Special Zone." Green said as the group ran, they soon saw a bright light as they exited from the Warp Zone.
The group arrived at the Zone Transfer Factory Hub. "Looks like we must've ran into one of those Factory Rings when we exited that Warp Zone." Nicolas said as he looked around the area.
"This Zone Transfer Factory Hub is huge. Makes me think of the Special Zone with all the changing scenery in the background." Green said as he looked around.
"I wonder how we're supposed to use this place to travel between Zones." Tails asked as he flew around a little bit, the area was very cramped.
Green suspected that Eggman must've done that on purpose so large numbers would have trouble moving between Zones. "Hey guys, follow me." Green said as he led the group to an area with a giant white doorway. The glowing doorway reminded Green of the time when Neo Dr. Eggman and a scientist from another world used the doorways to travel between worlds. They entered it and found a massive Chao Garden. The Chao they rescued in the Acts of Route 99 were playing about. "Looks like we've got someplace for R'n'R time." Green said as he sat down to take a breather.
Nicolas noticed that Green was acting surprisingly calm after everything that happened. "Green… Are you feeling well?"
Green grinned, "I'm feeling fine. I now know that Cinos was telling the truth. Emerl is alive! As Gemerl the Gizoid, my friend lives." He then took a moment to think, and had a deep breath of fresh air. "Chaos gave us this place for safety from Eggman."
"Sweet, remind me to thank your dad next time we see him, Nazo." Sonic said with a wink and sarcastic grin as he walked around a tree.
Green then came up with an idea. "I have a feeling we'll meet friends of ours in the different Zones. We're going to rescue our friends, and the Chao." He could tell his friends were ready for him to tell them a cunning plan.
Sonic stood ready and looked at Green. "What's the plan after we find the Chao?"
After Sonic asked, Green grinned and raised his right finger. "Once we have the Chao we can get Special Keys so we can enter Eggman's Special Stages. Then we're going to take the Chaos Emeralds and turn them into Super Emeralds once we can locate the Master Emerald." Green could tell that Tails was excited, it had been over a year now since the Chaos Emeralds were temporarily made into Super Emeralds so Sonic & Knuckles could become Hyper Sonic & Hyper Knuckles. Tails became Super Tails and even got to see Espio the Chameleon become Super Espio, the team could see where Green was going with this plan. "Then! We use the power of Hyper Sonic in order to fix our world and put an end to the use of the Genesis Wave technology once and for all."
The team cheered for the idea, "you can count on me to help you out." Sonic said as he gave Green a thumbs up. The team spent quite an amount of time relaxing before moving on, next up was the Sunset Hill Zone. And they would head back and search Route 99 for the remaining Chao so they could get access to the Special Key.
After the team found all of the Chao, Green said. "I think we should use the Special Keys after we've located all of the Chao."
"Good idea." Sonic said as the team moved out towards the Sunset Hill Zone. They got to the Zone thanks to the Hub area they group called the Sonic Factory. They went through a device made by Dr. Eggman and entered into the strange hub like platform of Sunset Hill Zone.
That was quite a wild start. Emerl lives on as Gemerl! The entire world has once again been hit with a Genesis Wave and torn apart! Can the heroes find all of the Chao and their friends before it's too late? Find out as the adventure continues!
