Wolfy: Hello! Um, I don't know what to say, so lets get on with the story! Sorry if it seems to move fast, I, uh, don't know how to explain...

Edit: Ohmahgawsh readers, yes, I'm back :D And I want to inform you that these few chapters are being REWRITTEN! YESH! Alert the tabloids! Jk. Well, you'll be happy to know that I'm bringing it back (this story) on a whole new level! My writing has improved greatly and I'm so glad! AND the whole story will now be in 3rd person! (He, she, Eevee, etc.) Yes, I'm adding more detail and switching it over once more. :D And I'm so sorry for the wait, my returning readers :'( It's just that my laptop was taken away then returned, and now I'm being flooded with algebra 2 homework (and I am NOT a homework person -_-) and worrying over my grades, AND running for Homecoming Princess! (I'm a Junior, btw :D Deal with it!) But I'm back! So celebrate! Now, onto the new and improved first chapter of An Umbreon/Glaceon Forbidden Love Story now renamed as A Dark, Frozen, Forbidden Love!

P.S. This a/n was written in September of 2014.

P.P.S No, I didn't win Homecoming :( XD Anyways, to the story!

IMPORTANT: I want to try to create a shipping name for this paring! For all of me, all I could come up with is lucidshipping. XD

Lucid:

lu·cid [loo-sid]

adjective

1. easily understood; completely intelligible or comprehensible: a lucid explanation.

2. characterized by clear perception or understanding; rational or sane: a lucid moment in his madness.

3. shining or bright.

4. clear; pellucid; transparent.

I picked lucid because I feel their relationship is the opposite of that; I feel it is dark, complicated, not the usual. And I loveit. :D

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokémon. :D

Summary: In the world of Pokémon two Eevees live in separate kingdoms. One Eevee's life is about to spin out of control, while the other Eevee's life is already over the edge. After a face to face meet under unfortunate circumstances these two Pokémon's lives slowly intersect and form a bond that could blossom into true love or destroy them from the inside out. Umbreon/Glaceon

Chapter Warning: Nothing too graphic... Yet ;)

A Dark, Frozen, Forbidden Love

Chapter 1

A small female Eevee slept in a dimly lit cave, her flank rising and falling gently with the rhythm of sleep. At the high pitch of a Wingull call she stirred, lifting her head and blinking sleepily, the bleached light reaching her gaze and momentarily blinding her. Something in the back of her head told her this was an important day, the memory playing hide and seek with her. She pondered, racking her mind while she yawned.

"Oh!" she exclaimed excitedly, the day's event blasting her like a Flamethrower attack. She flicked her cream colored tail excitedly, wrapping her claws around the moss bedding she slept on. "My dear Mew! Today's the day!"

"Eevee?" called a deep voice from further in the cave, echoing off the stone walls. Eevee leapt up and bolted out of her room and into the main cave, immediately spotting the large orange form that was her father.

"Daddy!" she exclaimed, barreling into the Flareon. He smiled warmly and placed a large orange paw around her smaller form, pulling her into his side.

"Good morning, my little princess. You ready?" he asked, nuzzling the top of her head between her ears.

Eevee pulled away and shook her tan fur out, looking up at her father with large brown eyes glittering with excitement. "I was born ready! I'm an Eevee!"

"So it seems!" purred a smooth female's voice. Eevee jumped, flicking her eyes over to the Vaporeon emerging from another cave. "You've picked a name already, darling?"

Eevee grinned and bounced over to the Vaporeon, affection shining all over her face. "Mom!"

"Good morning, Mist, my love," greeted Eevee's dad, padding over to his mate and nuzzling her affectionately.

"It's a special day today, Blaze," Mist murmured into Blaze's yellow mane. She looked up and turned to Eevee, smoothing out her daughter's pelt with her blue finned tail. Eevee purred, beyond excited. Today was the day she picked what Eeveelution she became along with her name. It was the start of her journey to evolution!

"Oh, mom, dad, I know exactly what-"

A sudden explosion rocked the ground, causing Eevee to jump in fright and immediately scurry behind her parents. From behind them Eevee saw her parents exchange an anxious glance. Blaze's brown eyes glittered with worry as he met his mate's violet eyes.

"Mist," Blaze turned to his daughter and nudged her forward, "take Eevee. I'll handle this," Blaze ordered, casting a wary glance out towards the sea shore cliff.

"Are you crazy, Blaze!? Whatever it was, you can't handle it alone! I'm-"

"Just go!" Blaze's eyes searched Mist's. "Please. I promise I'm just going to check what it is, then leave." At Mist's unblinking gaze he lowered his ears. "Promise."

Mist turned her turmoil filled dark violet eyes to the floor, then reached out and kissed Blaze gently. She pulled away and nudged Eevee, looking back at the Flareon before leading the way out of the cave. Eevee paused and looked back at her father, and he nudged her shoulder forward affectionately.

"We'll wait at the Pine Forest. Come, Eevee," Mist stated, her voice somewhat faltering. Eevee followed her mother reluctantly, something inside her making her sick. Something was wrong. She glanced back once more at her father before following her water-type mother away.

Blaze stared after his beloved wife and daughter, eyes lingering on the smaller feminine figure that was Eevee. "Be strong, my little crystal."

With a shake he trotted out, looking around and wondering what made the explosion. He was determined to find out what or who could be threatening his family. He swiftly padded to the overhanging cliff, ocean spray sprinkling his fur. He sniffed around, alert to the smallest of movement or sound. As he carefully peered over the side of the cliff to check the sea heavy footsteps sounded behind him. A familiar scent hit his nose and he whipped around, eyes wide. "Boulder? Is that you?"

The only answer he got was a pump of water and, "Hydro Cannon!"

Blaze yowled as he was pushed toward the Sea Cove edge, falling over and dangling for life as the waves below rushed up the rock wall, trying to reach him. Every Pokémon knew that if a fire-type fell in a body of water within seconds they were dead.

Blaze shot a glance up and saw a Marshstomp stalk out of the shadows of the cave. "B-Boulder!?..."

"Blaze, how odd to meet you here..." Boulder smirked and walked forward slowly, tauntingly.

"H-help me! Why did you attack me!" Blaze glanced down, his squirming growing frantic as the waves licked up the walls and threatened to engulf him in a watery coffin.

"Hmm... I think I won't, actually," Boulder replied, coming to stand before the Flareon.

Claws scrabbled against stone, finding no purchase. "You were my best friend!"

"Were! We were inseparable, like brothers! But then you fell for that Vaporeon and left me! So, lets see how they like it when you fall and leave them forever!" Boulder cackled, eyes gleaming with malice. "Muddy water!"

Blaze clutched the Sea Cove ledge and closed his eyes, bidding a last, silent farewell to his family.

. . .

Eevee was sitting in a field, a green lush field surrounded with blooming tulips. A light, gentle breeze blew against her fur soothingly, refreshing. She stood, wondering where she was. The last she remembered was the explosion by her cave home and rushing off to the Pine Forest with her mother. She looked around, but a tap on her shoulder made her look another way. There stood her father, smiling.

"Dad!" Eevee exclaimed, leaping up. She muzzled her father and looked at him. "What- are-are you ok!? What happened?"

Her father lowered his ears and licked her head, closing his eyes to hide the pain that flooded them a split second before. "I'm fine, my little crystal. Now sleep. Its been a long day."

Eevee's legs suddenly gave out, unexpected but comfortable, a cozy bed of moss that smelled like home appearing under her paws. A wave of exhaustion flooded her so she obeyed her father's instructions and closed her droopy eyes, sleep blanketing her, the scent of her father lingering in the air.

. . .

Eevee jerked awake, sunlight peeking on the horizon. Besides her her mother stretched, then pricked her azure fox-like ears. "Come, Eevee." The order was curt, stoic. "We must search for your father."

The two headed to the cove, sniffing around, searching for a clue of their beloved Flareon. "Check the cave, I'll check around it," Mist ordered. Eevee nodded and rushed into the cave, yelling for her father. In her dream he told her he was safe; maybe he was back sleeping in his cave den. He probably thought Eevee and Mist were better off in the forest for the night.

Eevee rushed into his room but he wasn't there; his scent was old, the same scent from yesterday. After a few seconds of searching an ear piercing shriek cut through the silent dawn. Eevee jumped and flew out of her home, screeching for her mother. She looked around frantically, then ran down to the sea shore and stopped dead. There sat her mother, shoulders hunched, head down. At her paws laid her father, unmoving, without life.

"Father... Father, no!" Eevee whispered, turning into a horrifying scream. She fell to the sandy floor, hiding her sobbing face in her paws. Her chest constricted and her breath came in hitched hiccups. The whole world seemed to spin, to crumble and shake and tumble.

He was dead. Dead. Her father. Her father who was a superPokémon, someone who would live to see her children give birth, who would lazy around in his old age and tell embarrassing stories to his grandchildren about Eevee's misadventures, who would threaten her first boyfriend if he hurt her, who would send her off at her wedding day. But he was dead. Gone.

"D-daddy..." came the choked whisper from her constricted throat, fat tears rolling down her stained cheeks.

How?! she wondered, voice too broken to be used. How could you, father?! You lied! You.. you said you were ok!... You said you were ok...

. . .

For the day they mourned Blaze's death, Eevee's mother in a silent grieving state, Eevee in a turmoil of emotions. At dusk they buried him in the PokéCementary, tired bodies and dull claws churning the soft dark dirt to lay to honor Eevee's father, a proper funeral much too expensive for them. A gravestone would be purchased, though, that was for sure.

Eevee refused to believe that her father died, but every time she looked at the grave reality ripped at her heart. Eevee guessed that she had to accept the truth; her father was gone, killed. But by who? She swore to hunt down her father's murderer, even if it took her a lifetime, even if she had to scour the earth, raid kingdoms, battle Legendaries. The murder was unjust, cruel and evil. It fueled her rage, cracking her out of her sorrow filled shell.

Eevee woke while the moon was edging over the rim of the horizon; she didn't even remember falling asleep. Soon enough the first light of dawn was appearing, clearing the ominous low hanging mist that filled the hill of graves and tombstones. Eevee stood, stretching, her limb aching from sleeping on the cool ground, and padded over to her father's grave, watching solemnly as some Starlys woke to sing an early morning tune. Then a thought popped into her mind. Due to the incident yesterday she hadn't been able to pick her Eeveelution. But should she really be thinking about her Eeveelution? Without her father it meant nothing now. Life had to go on though... and if she wanted to take down her father's murderer she would have to train and evolve, grow stronger.

Turning to her approaching mother, she whispered, "Mother... what did dad want me to become?"

Mist looked at the sky, her sorrow filled violet eyes reflecting the wispy clouds, then replied, "A Glaceon. Kind-hearted and gentle."

Eevee looked at the last disappearing stars, hoping that her sweet father would be up there, watching over her mother and her. "Then, for my father, I will be Crystal, the Glaceon."
