Ramen
There were times when Naruto would pause in the middle of his usual shoveling of ramen into his mouth, and study the noodles in fascination.
Had his father liked ramen too? Loved it like he did? Naruto supposed so. He would pluck at the fish cake floating innocently on the surface of the broth with his chopsticks, and study it with an almost reminiscent look in his eyes.
Spiral.
Uzumaki.
Iruka, if he was there, would usually then comment that Naruto must have been born to love ramen, and Naruto would happily bob his head in agreement, and continue slurping the noodles without a second thought. After all, why question fate when it tasted so good?
SnM: I've wanted to write a true drabble for the longest time, and this idea finally hit me like a giant tower of fish cakes yesterday (scratches head sheepishly: heh heh, I was watching Seikimatsu Darling...) Anyway, for those who don't know, fish cakes are the little white star shapped things with red spirals on them that are commonly found in ramen. The japanese name for these is 'naruto'. Uzumaki, if not obvious from the text, is 'spiral', or 'whirlpool'. While this could be a possible hint at Naruto's wild and impetuous nature, I say it's just another one of those reasons why he likes ramen so damn much. Anyway, while it's not really that good a fic in any way, it is at least introspective, and informational, and you can never have enough information. Until next I write, dearest readers.
