Tails: The Darkness Within
Chapter 1: The Transformation Begins
"NO!"
Tails could not believe his eyes. After all their adventures... after everything they had been through... it couldn't be... he couldn't be... after all they did together... together... did it have to be just him... couldn't they have died together?
Looking down at Sonic's lifeless body, Tails heard an evil, triumphant laugh... the laughter of none other than Dr. Eggman. At this very moment, something inside Tails began to change... hatred was coursing through his body... a sudden thirst for vengance... he would make Eggman pay...
Suddenly, Tails began to give off a black aura, his fur becoming wild and unkempt, claws like knife blades were growing from his fingertips, his teeth turned into ferocious, razor-sharp fangs, his pupils became slits, and his eyes changed color from their normal blue to glowing, blood-red. "YOU'RE GOING TO PAY, EGGMAN!" Tails said. His voice was slightly deeper than normal, yet much louder. It also had a sort of animalistic growl to it. Tails now sounded vicious, brutal, even barbaric. "I WANT VENGANCE!"
Eggman was worried. He had seen Sonic enraged before, but it was nothing like what the hedgehog's little sidekick had turned into. Gone was the cheerful two-tailed fox he knew, consumed by hatred and revenge. Tails was like a monster, vengance his only thoughts. He charged at his best friend's murderer, ready to fight... ready... to kill...
