~Tell her another day ~
He drove her home from the hospital keeping an eye on her. He reasoned with himself time and time again that she was alright. She was going to be perfectly alright. Only the bastard who shoot her was still out there and they still had no idea where he was, or who he was, or why he did it, or if he was coming back to finish the job, or anything for the fucking matter!
So he did what he knew to do best. He carried her bag, helped her out of the car, lead her up the stairs to her apartment, opened her front door for her… she tried to make him leave, go back home, she had her gun squad outside after all and a vice tightened around his throat, and if he was being honest his heart too. He tells her (with a lot of effort) that her couch will be his new best friend till they catch who did this and something inside him, something really terrible, hopes they never find him just so he can spent every night of the rest of his life with her.
"Hey silly girl" he calls her as she walked to her bedroom and she turns to look at him "I love you, you know that right?" he tells her, finally tells hers and something in him hopes that she'll understand what he means, what he really means.
"I love you too" she says almost shyly and she walks into her bedroom. He walks to her window and looking outside starring at the night sky he lets a soft sign from his lips. 'Not like that beautiful… not like that.' He thought 'I'm in love with you baby girl' he turned his back to the window and walked to the couch.
'At least' he thinks 'She's alive and I will get the chance to tell her another day'
