my immortal
hi all! I'm a new writer here.. :P so please be nice (hwehehehe) this fic just like its title is inspired by evanescence song "my immortal". I really love this song, and then the idea popped in my head about Ran and Shinichi relationship.. So I guess I'll write about it.. I've done two chapters already and I think this story might take 3 or 4 chapters.. so.. please enjoy it and kindly review.. so I could know how my writing ability is.. thank you so much!
"What??!!?"
"Ssst!! Ran! you don't have to scream!!" Sonoko put her hand on my mouth so that I wouldn't freak out anymore. Now half of the people in the class staring at us.
I try to lower my voice, " I'm sorry Sonoko, but really, it was shocking, you are joking right?"
"How could you say that? that's so mean. aren't you happy for me?" She looked so sad I can't stand seeing her that way.
"I do, I do Sonoko, demo, don't you think it's kind of too fast? we're still in high school."
"Listen Ran, we already in our last year, and I still plan to go to college, it's just Makoto goes abroad too much, and we thought that if we were engaged then we will be stronger." Said Sonoko as she grabs my hand and take me to the window, then she gazes outside. "Do you still think it's too fast, Ran?"
I also look outside to the clear blue sky. "No, it's alright if you think it's the best for both of you, I couldn't be happier."
"Thanks Ran, you are my best friend, and I wish you all the best with your Kudo-kun."
Suddenly that face run into my mind. His grin. His smile. I shouldn't be thinking about him. It hurts me too much if I remember how I left behind by him. Maybe he had even forgotten how I look like.
"Ran? are you okay?"
"Oh, yes Sonoko, I'm okay."
"It's still hurts isn't it? come on, if you really don't believe him then just go on."
"No, I'm okay really. come on tell me about your engagement party next week."
And then we lost in that conversation. I have always runaway from a conversation about Shinichi-kun. I know it sounds like I'm a coward. But what can I do? should I let myself got hurt? I don't ask much, it's okay if he doesn't like me as I like him. It's alright if he doesn't think of me the way I think of him. I just want to be his best friend like I always do. but with him leaving me this way. I don't even feel like a friend.

"Tadaima Ran-neechan!" Phew, today was so tiring. why is Ayumi and Genta want to eat those ridiculous candies? and why was I forced to accompany them to the mall? the answer is only one, they're kids! wait, I'm also a kid.
Wait, where is Ran? she usually greet me back when I came home. is she going out with Sonoko? or maybe.. with other guy? my heart beats twice as usual when I recall those feelings.
"Ran-neechan, I'm hungry, are you there? are there any food?" I try to call out her name again. but why she didn't answer it? so, Mr. Kogoro is out. then, I suppose Ran isn't out too right? I try to look for her in the kitchen, but she isn't there. so I knock her room door. but still there isn't answer. but wait, I think I heard something. is it Ran? is she crying inside?
I encourage myself to open her door since it was unlocked. and there she was, sitting on her bed with her hands covering her face. I can hear her sobbing. why is she crying? what is she crying for?
"Ran-neechan, doushite?" I try to ask her as gentle as I can. I don't want her to be scared of me.
(hiks..hiks...) "Conan-chan?" I can tell that she was surprised. but I really want to accompany her. share all of her sadness. Ran, if only I am who I really am now. if only I am Kudo Shinichi and not Edogawa Conan, maybe I'll be able to hug you and give you the comfort you need...
"Conan-chan!!!" She take me to her arms and hug me. her tears falling down to my shoulder. God, why do You let such a sweet girl crying like this?
"Doushite, Ran-neechan? is there anything I can help?"
"Iie.. Arigatou Conan-chan.. Gomen ne I hug you all of sudden, I'm sure you were surprised.." She still sobbing a little bit, but she's more steady than before.
"It's okay, demo nee-chan, what's wrong? at least you could share it with me, I know I'm just a little kid but you know you can count on me." I give her a little grin, maybe it would cheer her a bit.
"Conan-chan, thank you. do you really want to know? would you be sick if you're about to hear a sad girl story about relationship?"
"I can bear it nee-chan, trust me." Don't tell me she's about to tell me about her new crush. no, about that one, I can't bear it. but what if it's about ME?
"It's about Shinichi-kun, no, I think it's not because of that. Sonoko will be engaged with Makoto next week." She said with a sad voice that I can't stand to hear.
"Ran-neechan, what about Shinichi-kun? did he made you cry? what did he do?" So it's true, it's about me, the foolish Kudo Shinichi.
"No, no, he didn't do anything to me. it's just.... Conan, have you ever meet him since he's gone?"
"Sure, why is it nee-chan?"
"Why did he want to see you and didn't bother to see me?" Her tears start to falling down her cheek again. No please, Ran please don't cry...
"Umm..Uh.. I don't really know, but he always asked about your condition nee-chan. I can tell that he was very worried."
"No, he doesn't. look at me, I'm crying and he's not here!" I'm here Ran, I'M HERE.. but you just don't see me that way...
"Whether he's here or not, he will always be there for you, he always thinks of you, always worried about you." Really, for only one second let her know that I'm here... I always be here...
"How do you know that? He never proved it... to him I'm just.. I'm just... a stupid little childhood friend." She sobs even louder.
"You are more than that, you were always more than that.. for me, I mean for him, you'll always be the precious. that's why he didn't want to see you, he doesn't want to hurt you.. but he promised that when the day had come for him to down on his knee in front of you and beg you to spend your rest with him, it will be the moment when other things aren't important for him but you..." That I promise you Ran...
No, I couldn't face her anymore... I will throw up all my feelings if I stay there.. she will know who I am... so I decided to runaway from her room.
